Hope you all enjoyed Murder Drones episode 7! This is the first full thumbnail I've gotten to make start-to-finish for GLITCH Here's a little breakdown video of my process, along with a more descriptive breakdown in the thread below 🧵

First, I was briefed by @kevdevz and @LiamVAnimation regarding the mood/intent of the thumbnail. A lot happens in the episode, so we had to decide what elements to highlight to entice the audience with. Based on that, I developed 4 concept sketches for Liam to choose from.

Once a concept was chosen, I staged the camera and posed the characters in Maya. Liam then provided his feedback.

After finalizing the composition and poses, I imported them into Unreal Engine and lit the scene. This was my first time using Unreal so there was a learning curve. Big thanks to @XoriakOfficial @Trainguy9512 and Luke Lerdwichagul (@smg4official) for showing me the ropes!

Then I took the raw render from Unreal into Photoshop for touch-ups and color grading. I used my Cintique Pro to illustrate highlights on the characters to make sure they're visible at a thumbnail scale.

Finally, I added post elements like smoke and blood, along with a vignette and additional color grading to draw attention to crucial areas of the image.

Overall, it was an fun experience, and I learned a lot about Unreal Engine in the process! I look forward to creating more thumbnails for @glitch_prod's shows in the future!
