Horizon Forbidden West is better than Horizon Zero Dawn in every single way. Combos are better and they hit detect better. They added more weapons. They added a whole made up mini game and races. Conversations are way better. Side missions are better.

@PeterP_1985 Flying immortal humans with shields is not more interesting lol. Sylens was the most interesting character in HZD and he was largely sidelined in this one, although that’s not necessarily their fault (RIP Lance). Horizon 3 without Lance will be tough. The story centers around him

@PeterP_1985 To me it was more interesting because it was a shock that what happened in the first game wasn't so in the second game. It was a big shock to me. Ted Faro's story in Thebes was also a great storyline. Im sorry you didn't care for it. It was dope to me. *shrugs*

Yea Forbidden West is way better from a gameplay perspective. I can't even play HZD anymore because HFW completely surpassed it in every way that going back to HZD feels like a chore.

I feel like HZD’s story was more focused than HFW’s was and it held my attention better as well. HFW did a lot of great stuff, but it was also a lot at once. The Blight, Regalla, The Zeniths, Nemesis etc. Still a great story though. Otherwise, HFW > HZD.

It's definitely alot, but there's alot of beats that are done very well! Loved it honestly.

Yeah, I agree. I think for me once the Zeniths showed up I didn’t care about anything else and just primarily focused on them because they were the most interesting part of the story. Shoutout to Angela Bassett as Regalla though, great performance. 💯

I mostly agree. Literally everything is better but the story. I enjoyed the mystery of finding out what happened in Dawn story a lot.

And I enjoyed learning what happened to the Far Zenith and what happened to Ted Faro. 🤷🏾‍♂️

If they can add parries to the human-to-human for the next game it’ll be top-notch. That’s the only thing I felt was missing.

The story didn't do it for me felt like a repeat of Zero Dawn: another crazy AI is coming to end the world and I have to stop it, the big reveal came out of nowhere and I didn't care cause they didn't set it up in the first game.

I think the only thing that Zero Dawn does better is the story, and not even by a large amount, I just found the first games story a bit more engaging

Replaying HZD right now. The unfolding horror of the story was incredible first time around. HFW looked incredible but the story didn’t do much for me.

In tech (gameplay, visuals) it's definitely better. More interesting. Story? Very questionable. I'd say, worse. Some moments are just stupid.

Everything better, but worse story for sure. Didn't feel as invested, but the open world and graphics helped me get through it.

It is a fantastic game. But are, but Zero Dawn's story just hits harder. But loved both truly.

Had to turn it off because the excessive hand holding was getting on my nerves. Elden Ring can't out shortly after and I never turned Forbidden West back on.

The difference isn’t even close. It’s genuinely one of the top 5 game sequels of all time, especially when you consider that only 5 years separate them and the difference is massive.

The story is so much worse that it negates the improvements elsewhere. The mystery was compelling in zero dawn. The characters were better, too.

Meh. gameplay-wise forbidden west is phenomenal. The story just didn't do it for me like zero dawn did. Don't get me wrong I love both of em and own them both twice (PS and steam lmao)
