#WATCH | Tamil Nadu: Around 1,000 personnel from the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), along with Goa Armed Police personnel, arrived in Tiruchirappalli today via a special train from Chandigarh. Out of the total, 180 personnel were deployed from Tiruchirappalli to Puducherry and Karaikal. They were sent with full security arrangements, carrying their weapons and equipment in designated vehicles. The personnel will be engaged in election duty in coordination with the Puducherry and Karaikal police, ensuring security and smooth conduct of the electoral process.

Today, Congress President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi had a detailed and fruitful discussion with senior leaders and the party leadership of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. For Tamil Nadu, we had a collective meeting at the beginning and at the end, and in between, we had one-to-one meetings with individual leaders from Tamil Nadu. The leadership patiently listened to all opinions, and leaders were given full opportunity to express their views. The discussion was constructive and focused on strengthening the party and future strategy in Tamil Nadu. The meeting unanimously entrusted that Congress President and LoP will take the decisions. With regard to election strategy-related matters, the party high command will take appropriate decisions in due course. Keeping in mind the larger interests of the party ideology and the people of Tamil Nadu, the high command has issued a clear directive to all leaders to maintain discipline and refrain from making statements, including on social media, on these matters. Leaders have been advised to avoid speculation and speak in one voice, in line with the party decisions. We also discussed Puducherry-related election matters. This video from the Tanjore incident is so disturbing for me. A boy questioned the undue activity of VCK party people blocking the road, was brutally attacked by the Tamil Nadu Police! What are you trying to say, CM sir TVK Vijay? Your alliance partner can commit any atrocity, and if the public questions it, they will be attacked by your police? Is this the rule of law in Tamil Nadu? If you book an FIR against that boy, you should also book an FIR against the SSI of the Police Department who attacked him.
