HOT TAKE: I reserve the right to be optimistic about Trump's tariffs because turns out — many of today's loudest skeptics are yesterday's proponents. 🤷♂️

Nancy had a huge anti-china boner since the 80s

What's changed? Orange man bad.

Dive into the critical issues shaping economic policy, from President-elect Trump’s sweeping tariff proposals to the challenges Texas faces under rising government spending. Now is the time for bold reforms to protect taxpayers and ensure economic freedom thrives.

It's interesting, studying the history of economics and liquidity cycles and such.. When was the last time we had a sweeping tariff 'act' alongside a credit crisis? 1929? Smoot-Hawley tariff act was 1930, great depression ensued. Only this time it's much bigger. The banks will be forced to use QE measures, lowering interest rates, allowing for a liquidity injection, softerish landing, re-finance the debt, 'bretton-woods' type of agreement where we back the dollar with commodities and peg it to a stablecoin(s)...? perhaps. still, stuff gets deeper.

I’m not worried about the tariffs. I understand the impression originally that they would be reciprocal, like percent for percent. American imposed like an 31% percent reciprocal tariff against China who has like a 64% tariff. That means they are still 33% up on us. And they’re not only ones by any stretch. If you want to trade openly with us, fine. But if you want to make extra on tariffs we should match it. Yes the stock market is going to drop, and that’s because it has too. I’m nothing close to an economist and even I get that. So in closing, if anything, I wanted more. 🤔 I bet all the guys like Warren Buffet who pretty much liquidated their stocks into cash are going to swoop in for the discounts in the market by the way.

If it turns out bad, would you quit internet

They are just spitting their same TDS bull crap. It’s been less than 48 hours. No one can figure out what’s gonna happen. It just has to play out. Some People have the patience of a child.

There is at least one economic shift. The jobs they spoke about from 1996-2008 are no longer there to lose. Though the fundamental principles stay the same. Who should appreciate tariffs the most in the short term? Environmentalists.

I'm cool with our govt drop-shipping everything coming in as long as they lower taxes to offset the increase. 🤞
