Honestly I think about this a lot when times are tough. People romanticize the end but it’s never pretty. But we can live with something worth remembering and do something we’re proud of. Life is a gift worth fighting for.

Sure they must do stuff up to 11 in the pilot, so the show gets picked by the station, but with hindsight, it's odd how House is emoting in this scene. As I remember, he didn't even interact with her before this scene and the cases where House gets emotionally involved are rare.
