Willie Fritz worked to make sure his University of Houston program is a football laboratory where his coordinators Slade Nagle and Austin Armstrong can concentrate on what matters. "We've got so many coaches at this level," Fritz says. "One of the things I try to do is take a lot of things off the plate of my coordinators, my coaches, so that they can work on football. "And that's what they do. They love football. They're talking football all day, every day. "A lot of that is how can we enhance our scheme. And what does our guys do best. What do we need to stay away from. What do we need to do more of. How can we teach this fundamental better."

You have to ask yourself what changed today that allowed him to resign now, as opposed to last week, two weeks ago, or three weeks ago. The difference is that they were waiting on a political calculation—a numbers game. When someone is committing abuse, they should be out. It doesn’t matter whether a Democrat resigns, a Republican resigns, or whether there’s some kind of trade. If you are guilty of this, that’s it.
