It is all about supporting men and boys to be the best versions of themselves, being up-standers to damaging gender stereotypes and us all having a role to play in ending gendered violence. This is how these boys provide for their families. The book Kite Runner has some of this in it. A documentary, The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan, was shown in the UK in March 2010 “This is the norm; Afghan men have to buy a bride ( it's expensive), and if they can't afford it, instead rape young boys and goats. That way, it doesn't go against Koran.”
