This is what I believed happened to me 11/11/23 when I nearly died after over a year of lower jaw tooth root infections. After numerous root canals the infection is finally gone. Most neurologists don't believe it can happen, but a few know it can. Many dentists also don't believe it can. Apparently this is not taught in the US. It is known in other countries (with deaths reported in the foreign literatures). It's a good reason to be agressive with root canals in lower jaw root infections with a board approved endontist.

A far more common cause of death from dental infection than a brain abscess is a fulminating cervicofacial fascial infection causing airway obstruction and once known as Ludwig's Angina.
