In 1899, artist Jean-Marc Côté imagined a 2000s "Whale Bus": a humpback whale pulling an underwater cabin like a stagecoach. It’s a famous example of retro-futurism from his En L'An 2000 series.
why?
this is actually really a retarded idea - one dude is gonna control a whale with his arms... sure buddy
The whale poked me in the eye
Until the whale decides to dive a bit deeper...
No one: @MrBeast : Coming soon to season 3 of BeastGames
1 man is not guiding a fucking whale
Those guys saw a dead whale in the ocean. I hope it's not the same whale.
Who even thought of this😂
Interesting concept, sometimes the most bizarre ideas are attempts to rethink transportation entirely. Execution… maybe less successful ⚡
Worst thing humans can do
7000 Kevlar Tampons
Let's do it!
Am I the only one who thinks this is animal abuse?
The future is way advanced.
What a dream😂😂
Meanwhile in 2026 we're still arguing about traffic while this guy predicted whale Uber... 😯😯😯
A classic case of retro futurism not a real transport plan. The “whale bus” came from late 19th century postcard art, imagining the future with today’s limits, not science. Biologically and ethically impossible: whales can’t be steered, sedated repeatedly, or used as engines. Fascinating history, zero feasibility.
Whale bus drivers are really out here playing Animal Crossing in real life... 😂
Crazy how language has changed, a Whale Bus when I was growing up was just your mom!
1900s mfs when the do any future imagination:
as bizare as it sounds, humans did figure out horse riding. makes sense they try to do the same with other animals.
@tweem 600k views He's off his meds yo
Please someone make this happen on RDR2
A psychedelic, dreamlike scene evoking the "Magical Mystery Tour" spirit. A vibrant, swirling bus morphs into fantastical landscapes filled with whimsical characters and abstract shapes. Bold, saturated colors and playful typography announce "Magical Mystery Tour" in a retro, 1960s poster art style, reminiscent of Peter Blake and Hapshash and the Coloured Coat. Sunlight streams through ethereal clouds, casting a kaleidoscopic glow. In the town where I was born Lived a man who sailed the sea And he told us of his life In the land of submarines So we sailed on to the sun Until we found the sea of green And we lived beneath the waves In our yellow submarine We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine And our friends are all aboard Many more of them live next door And the band begins to play We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine As we live a life of ease Everyone of us has all we need Sky of blue and sea of green In our yellow submarine We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine We all live in a yellow submarine Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
What goofy ass fuckin idea is that
Stupid
