Yesterday I wrote about how police in western China replaced their guard dogs with geese after thieves kept drugging the dogs to break into stations at night. Turns out the Chinese aren’t the only ones who figured this out. A prison in southern Brazil has done the same thing. Meet Piu-Piu.

This adorable little creature is a baby echidna, commonly known as a puggle! Echidnas (along with the platypus) are monotremes—the only mammals that lay eggs. The babies hatch tiny, pink, hairless, and underdeveloped, with a distinctive long snout (which will later help them eat ants and termites). At this young stage, they're often cared for in a pouch-like fold on the mother's belly until they start growing spines. They're native to Australia and New Guinea, and puggles like this are frequently rescued and hand-raised when orphaned. This one looks super content curled up in that hand—total cuteness overload! So squishy and weirdly charming, right!?

BREAKING: Hurricane Hunters just measured an almost unbelievable 889 mb pressure inside Hurricane Polo. If that reading is confirmed, Polo would become the second strongest hurricane ever recorded in the eastern Pacific, behind only Hurricane Patricia in 2015. What makes this even more remarkable is how quickly Polo got here. The storm has intensified at an extraordinary rate, being only a tropical storm 24 hours ago. An 889 mb pressure is an exceptionally rare number in the eastern Pacific, putting Polo into truly historic territory. We are watching one of the strongest Pacific hurricanes ever observed unfold in real time.

A Muslim woman at an amusement park in Canada has a complaint that she is having trouble praying in the park because loud sound is playing from all sides. She demands that the park respect her faith and make a secluded place for prayer. This is the problem. Did she come to the amusement park to stroll or to pray? Then what is the mosque for? Why does she have to show her faith only in a public place?

UPDATE: Cyclone Fina has unexpectedly re-intensified to a 120 MPH (195 kph) Category 3 after initially being forecast to only be a Tropical Storm at landfall in the Drysdale River National Park area of Australia. Fina is also trending further south as this ice blender of extremely cold convection swirls around her 958 mbar eye, meaning that landfall could potentially take place closer to the Ord River Nature Reserve.

Cyclone Narelle has entered the Gulf of Carpentaria after the Queensland leg of her near-continent-wide, coastal tour of Australia. Once she makes her second landfall in the Northern Territory, Narelle will embark on a week-long circumnavigation of Western Australia, which may end with a direct impact to the city of Perth at the end of the month. What a crazy cyclone track this is going to end up being.

The way Aniya keeps shutting down every allegation about her is actually hilarious. 😭 All season people screamed that she didn’t even like Carl, only for her to leave the villa and start acting like a girl hopelessly in love—shamelessly gushing about him all over the comment sections. Now the narrative has changed to, “She’s doing too much” and “She’s more into him than he’s into her.” 🤣 At this point, the goalposts keep moving. Aniya is going to make some of you lose your minds. Just wait. 😂 #LoveIslandusa

🚨 Five orangutans found abandoned in a forest in Odisha. 😳 Let that sink in for a second. Orangutans are native only to the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra, over 3,000 km away. Yet five young orangutans were reportedly discovered in a forest in Balasore district. The biggest question: How did they get there? Was this a case of illegal wildlife trafficking gone wrong? Were they being smuggled and then abandoned? Who brought them into India, and why? If confirmed, this could be one of the most unusual wildlife discoveries India has seen in years. The babies are now reportedly under the care of forest officials, but the mystery of their journey to Odisha is far from solved. What do you think happened here? 🤔🌏🐒 #Odisha #Orangutan #Wildlife #Conservation #WildlifeTrafficking

Vijay will be worser than DMK! Vijay went to meet the victims of the #Kallakurichi illicit alcohol manmade disaster! An office bearer of his party instructs an old lady to fall at Vijay’s feet! How disgusting can this be? How is Vijay different from DMK where senior leaders and people fall at Udhayanidhi’s feet! After visiting and acting as though he was part of the mourning, he releases his second single from his movie GOAT! How insensitive can this be? Vijay is an utterly selfish person who doesn’t have people’s wellbeing at his heart! The reason why he is like this is because he has been brought in just to split the anti-incumbency votes and ensure DMK gets re-elected in 2026! This is what Kamal Haasan did by splitting votes and ensure DMK won in 2021! Vijay should be banished from politics! Happy Birthday Vijay Vijay

Once a sovereign country bans Western communication devices, companies, social media apps, app stores, and operating systems, it is no longer about being “anti–freedom of speech,” but rather a matter of national security. That rhetoric will no longer work. We are in an era where everything is out in the open, as Sinwar promised: “This city (Gaza) will expose everyone.” (VIDEO)

“Judaism yes, Zionism no. The State of Israel has to go.” So, just to be clear, it’s a yes to Jews, but also, the world’s only Jewish state has to be eradicated? Zionism is the belief that Jews have the right to self-determination in their ancestral homeland. Eight in ten British Jews consider themselves to be a Zionist. Only six percent do not. This was filmed at today’s anti-Israel demonstration in London. Imagine being Jewish in London and seeing a mob chant this. How would you feel?

“I repeat, Kill the Boer, the Farmer”, how can anyone in their right mind say this is not incitement of violence, not even mentioning hate speech? These guys feel nothing for South Africa! After this week and everything that happened with the presidents US visit, these breakers continued with their hate in Koppies in the Free State province this weekend. This is again another element that makes a farm attack a unique crime. It is the only violent crime in South Africa that is celebrated by song, hateful political rhetoric and welcomed on social media. The singing of this hateful song has never been publicly condemned by the South African government. (To a certain extent in Washington this week, only after being cornered?)

These are car parking bays in Zimbabwe’s Shurugwi Town🤣🤣🤣 How a government can allow things to deteriorate to this level is tragic! It is so painful to watch a country which used to have the second most sophisticated economy in Africa at independence collapse to these deplorable levels! To have the guts to put paint in soil shows how shameless these guys are! ZANUPF’s failure to run an economy has been a disaster to this once prosperous country! Failed leadership, failed vision, tragic failure of any ideas and only delivering on corruption and repression! Shurugwi is a town with chromite, gold and nickel being mined around it! It is one of the most mineral rich towns in Zimbabwe! Shurugwi has been a town since 1971!

NEW: 🇮🇱 🇸🇪 Greta Thunberg gets harassed in the street by an Israeli male. He happily hurls a torrent of abuse and threats at a 23 year old autistic girl just minding her own business. This is how he was raised to treat women. And I guarantee this grown man thinks he’s the victim. This also comes after Greta was *sexually humiliated/abused* in Israel. This is how Zionists want everyone who speaks out to be treated. Especially women. Look at how they’ve persecuted Ms Rachel, Ana Kasparain and Marjorie Taylor Greene. All three of them were doxxed, harassed, their families too. They target women. Don’t forget the ‘right to rape’ riots . Imagine what a Palestinian woman has to deal with.

I’ve had a ton of questions regarding today’s first inning in Kansas City regarding the Philadelphia Phillies at Kansas City Royals, and why all six runs were earned despite an error. The error by Turner is a throwing error, and while a good throw would have ended the inning, this is NOT an assumed out error because of the out at second base (this is where you don’t assume a double play). So, even without this error, all six runs would have scored, so the six earned runs against Christopher Sánchez is correct. EDIT: adding this, but again, the error here is only for the extra base advancement, not for being safe at first, as the batter officially was safe on a fielder’s choice. The only way you could have an error on this is if the throw was a good one and on target, and the first baseman missed or dropped it. Outside of that, the error is just for the extra bases, not for how the batter reached. He reached on a fielder’s choice. #RingTheBell #FountainsUp

Austin Wells is historically bad. His 37 wRC+ on the year is dead last in all of baseball. [Min 190 PA] That 37 wRC+ is actually the fifth-worst since 2022, when the National League did away with the DH. Being better than 2024 Tim Anderson, with his 28 wRC+, is about the only thing Wells can flex this season. One of my takes earlier in the year was that the Yankees should keep Wells in the fold, mainly for his defense. Making sweeping changes mid-season could hurt the pitching staff, and that was one of the strengths. Wells is SO bad that this notion no longer matters. He needs to go because quite literally any warm body is an upgrade at this point. Wells is being outplayed by Max Schuemann, who was cut by the Athletics last year. The Astros won a World Series with Martin Maldonado in there, but even he wasn't this awful. If you doubled Wells' wRC+ this year, it only slightly eclipses Maldanado's from 2022. He had a 71 wRC+. This is where the Yankees are at with Wells. The fact is, this has gone on long enough.
