It’s not defying physics and doing something impossible. Fucking tards.

This makes it sound like the momentum is the thing that made this work : The actual reason is just pressure / siphoning. You could stop the flow with a large tap at either top, and restart (as long as there was water in the pipe the whole way through).

Gravity did the pumping, Romans just understood physics 2,000 years early.

You've got to see how incredible Oman engineering of Falaj "الفلج" having similar principle but without piping. They call it "غراق-فلاح".. 'gharraq-fallah'..

Romans understood these puzzles

Please…. Speed and momentum of the water has nothing to do with it. It is a closed system (the pipe) where it ends up 10 feet below the entry point. (Or do you think it is the speed/momentum that levels the bend in your water closet?)

2000 years before "we" understood... so the Romans are not part of we?? As in us.. humankind. The truth is we understood many things but the Roman catholic church claimt all this knowledge as blasphamy and plunged us in to the darkages and poverty and they kept all the wealth!!

It's mind-blowing how much they accomplished purely through gravity, precise gradient drops, and physics.

romans really said "why pump when you can just... angle it better"

2000 year before they understood fluid dynamics? Doubting that part is true. The “understood fluid dynamics”. In other words they do use sciency words and go to college.

I think about Rome everyday. Compare us now to them then. I feel like I had a past life there. It’s like I know the city like the back of my hand, it’s weird

What if they used magic to lift water?

Nothing that defies logic or gravity. It's actually simple. As long as point A is higher than point B water will flow to point B. As for the lead pipes, with time passing a crust builds on the surface of the lead isolating the lead from the water -> no lead poisoning.

The question is: "How were the Romans themselves made?"

Sounds like the understood fluid dynamics actually.

Romans really looked at a valley and said “pressure will handle HR” 😭

Trí tuệ của người La Mã cổ đại thật sự quá đỉnh. Nguyên lý siphon nghịch này vẫn là một kiệt tác kỹ thuật cho đến tận ngày nay!
