Police have formed a perimeter near the Shoshone County Sheriff's Office. Latest updates: The owner of Ace Hardware across from the Sheriff's Office confirmed an individual shot into their building. Staff are in lockdown hiding in the basement. Idaho Transportation Department has blocked the I-90 eastbound ramp to Exit 62 near Wallace as the response continues. Per scanner traffic, the shooter is barricaded in the inmate visitation room inside the Sheriff's Office. SWAT has taken control of the situation. What we know so far: The shooter started firing on the street before moving into the courthouse and sheriff's office. Witnesses reported a "barrage" of gunfire. He had multiple guns. Authorities evacuated people from the courthouse. A life-support helicopter is airborne. Multiple agencies including Kootenai County SWAT are on scene.
