I made my comeback in 2017 when he was the captain,he was the one who called me up and said, ‘You’re going to be here, you’re doing well.’ I remember in 2013 as well, he told Basu sir, ‘Dinesh is playing very well, he should be part of the Champions Trophy squad,’ even though he wasn’t the captain then. Thru Karishma Mehta podcast a few days ago - where I expressed how I felt sad about the young boy who was pushed aside by security of Virat Kohli - when he tried to get his Autograph. The child Was heart broken. Ipl is all about creating a fan base and loyalty of fans is paramount. No man team or player should think he is a bigger star and has no time for his fans. I know it’s not Virat’s fault - it’s sometimes is the security apparatus around the stars that at times right - at times too aggressive that need to be human. Anyway It touched my heart when I saw this incident on social media. I offered through my podcast to send my bat which I have of Virat Kholi with the Rest of the indian Cricket Team - which participated in the 2011 World Cup to him. We did not know who the child was. Well Karishma Mehta put that story out on her podcast - The young Child Yagu saw it and reached out to me on social media on my instagram. I immediately called him in the middle of the night half asleep - and did a video call with him and his father. And we spoke. And it made my day. Today he sent me this video. I am sending the bat from my private collection which was on my wall to him - I hope Virat Kohli sends me one of his most prized bats for my collection. As I have none too of his alone 😭😭😭😭🥰😘.

He's walked away from test cricket & its unfortunate that in the five years that he struggled before retiring that he didn't quite put his heart & soul into finding out the problems as why he was averaging 31 for 5 years in test cricket. It was okay if Virat Kohli had retired from all cricket but that he's chosen to play one-day cricket dissapoints me more, because it is easiest format. The format that really tests you is Test Cricket. The other thing is, because he is so fit, supremely fit you feel even more that he could continue his fight to get back into form". MY NOTE - Sanjay Manjrekar just one correction, people mistakenly say that he was out of form for 5 years when 2020 was the year of covid where he just played 3 tests & in 2023 he was averaging 55, effectively he was poor in 3 years & I agree with you that he didn't reinvented himself & didn't work on his game the way Sachin used to do in his 30s, test cricket is the toughest cricket & one need to keep reinventing themselves in order to dominate there as Root did during covid, he worked on his game so much when there was no cricket & then we can see the wonder Root is doing in test cricket. Yes, I am dissapointing that he retired from tests but I disagree with you where you said, he could leave it alltogether. I am pleased that he is still playing ODIs & looking for ODI WC 2027❤️.

Since Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from T20is, here something which I had written something for him few months back:(attaching an edit made by Amit Dubey which I found these lyrics fit aptly on Virat) March 2, 2008 This day holds great significance for Indian cricket because, on one hand, India defeated Australia in their own backyard in the first final of the CB series, and at the same time, nearly 6000 kilometers away, India's young brigade had won the Under-19 World Cup. After the World Cup victory, when this team returned to Bangalore from Kuala Lumpur, BCCI gave a grand welcome to the Under-19 team, and Kumble and Dravid were also present there. Dravid congratulated all the young players and imparted some wisdom. He said, "We are proud of you, but I want you to remember that from the Under-19 team that won the World Cup in 2000, only one member was part of the Indian team that won the CB Series." "What you have achieved is not everything, and your goal should be to win the World Cup one day." The young captain of that Under-19 team was listening carefully , and just three years later, he was part of the ODI World Cup-winning team. But the world had yet to witness the prowess of Kohli - the batter in a World Cup... By the next World Cup, Kohli had established himself among the World's best batsmen, but as in life, achieving everything in cricket is not easy. This is one of the best interviews of #KartikAaryan so far. He talks so maturely about the PR games the industry plays against him to degrade him every time and how he hasn’t got any safeguard to defend himself. He knows about all the campaigns running against him, as he said people are always targeting and pointing at him, probably out of jealousy. No wonder why KA receives so much hate, as his Rise was so quick and big that it made many actors insecure that’s why industry runs PR campaigns to bring him down. But they are keep failing everytime as our boy’s Godfather are his fans who are always there to support him and back him.
