Carney's new emission reduction plan looks like a shell game. Knock off the emissions cap but increase costs and penalties elsewhere Still many hoops! Lots of uncertainty. Driving away investment dollars "But to your point, they are moving to strengthen the industrial carbon pricing system." "If the country can agree on develop a post 2030 carbon pricing trajectory, we can get to a point where you don't need the emissions cap." "So essentially the plan is the government's going to sit down with the provincial and territorial governments and setting up a multi decade industrial carbon price trajectory long term certainty heading towards a net zero target by 2050." "So if you can do the methane, if you can do the electricity, if you can agree to an industrial carbon price on a long term horizon to give certainty, then you can get to the oil and gas emissions cap." Who gives a rats arse what Liz May thinks. Even Bill Gates gets it Competing against the US... that has none of these

Carney says that Canada must have a carbon tax on heavy industry, otherwise it won't be able to trade with the UK, the EU, or Japan. He is lying. What the EU has proposed is a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. If a country's carbon pricing is non-existent or lower than their carbon pricing, they will levy a carbon tariff on your products. So, they're happy to trade, but they will add a carbon tariff to March their own . Now, understand that only 5% of our current merchandise exports go to the EU. Carney wants to turn our economy upside down and make it uncompetitive with our largest trading partner, the United States, in order to satisfy a non-obligatory carbon taxation scheme from a very minor trading partner. Does that seem like a sound economic plan? Clearly his focus is not on our economy, but on carbon taxation and net zero. He is single minded and quite frankly dangerous to Canada's economic well-being.

CATransformers is a carbon-driven neural architecture and system hardware co-design framework. Using CATransformers, we discover greener CLIP models that achieve an average of 9.1% reduction potential in total lifecycle carbon emissions while maintaining accuracy (or increasing accuracy) and latency. This research is the first to look into carbon-driven neural architecture and system hardware co-design.
