“REMODEL” ……. ?! 😶✨ Oh! Wait. She asked for tips. Here ya go, lady. By the time you finish completely ripping drywall out, floors, plumbing, appliances, etc etc……. AND — she said APARTMENT?! So ….. what do you think the neighbors in the attached & nearby buildings are suffering with…..?! Only one way to, “remodel,” this.

This lady is the definition of a slumlord! There is a number on the door of this APARTMENT! This is not a standalone house. What do the other ATTACHED apartments look like? For every roach you see, there are 100 inside the walls. I spent some of my childhood living in slum housing (not this bad).

@Notwokenow They need an exterminator. The obvious infestation is in the walls also. Good Lord, this made my skin crawl. I never saw a roach until I was 7 and am deathly afraid of them. 🥴

@Notwokenow I’ve seen places like this in Baltimore. I’m a historic tax credit consultant and I could tell you some stories! Found a mummified cat and dog in one row house. Needles all over the place so that we have to wear steel toe boots, human bones in the backyard.

And there are those that say "landlords bad". "How dare a landlord charge so much!" Ya, because that $20,000 repair the people before you left us with cleaned out our savings, that's why. TO BE CLEAR: I have great renters today, charge below-market rent, and pay their utilities. When that little family moves out, I will probably need to sell it -- and the most likely purchaser will be a "fund" that will tear the house down and put up a new build that doesn't match the neighborhood. That is exactly what happened to my other house: Torn down, replaced.

@Notwokenow This is awful. I have a similar situation with a rental. Was being 'nice' as the couple divorcing with young kid - 5 months of promises, crying, sob stories and partial payments before finally evicting. Day 3 of clearing out junk, find crack pipe in kitchen drawer. Never again

I used to clean apts after people moved out. There are people out there who can destroy a very nice townhouse in less than 6 months. We had one rented in perfect condition that I had to dress in a hazmat suit to go into after bug bombing the place, full of fleas and roaches. My suit was covered with fleas just walking into the place. They had to bring in a professional exterminator to get rid of the bugs, that were not there when these folks moved in. Walls busted out, dog had torn the blinds in all rooms, claw marks on window sills and bathroom doors, broken toilets, how do you break a toilet? Just so nasty. 🤢

@Notwokenow Even the dog’s like, “Oh Holy Hell !! Yeah, I’ll just wait out here for y’all.” And they shouldn’t have their doggo anywhere around when spraying insecticides- dogs will chase/eat bugs, lick the ground, door frame & anywhere else that horrendous tenant left food remnants. 😬

@Notwokenow After retiring from the military, my dad worked for a few years as a pest control guy. I used to help him spray the low-income housing. We would wear those onesie outfits and masks. The roaches would overwhelm us. Once, a lady had 3 5 gallon buckets swept up before we were done.

@Notwokenow Thank God I don't live in apartments anymore. Doesnt matter how clean you are, if the neighbors place is infested. When I moved to my new home, 90% of all my furniture went to the dumpster. That was 5 years ago, now I dont spray or anything. Haven't seen a roach in 5 years .

@Notwokenow Slumlord. Sorry but let's be real. Roaches aside, look at the condition of everything in the apartment from the floor, to the ceiling fan, to the walls. This is someone trying to put the least amount of effort into a property but expecting the tenant to be responsible.
