Excellent texture work really goes a long way. This kind of stuff honestly looks better than UE games to me...

Well my wife is a baddie and she's 30. Makes sense to me, sometimes the people and things we love remain as wonderful as they were when we first saw them.

Devs in Japan and a few outside of Japan really pushed the envelope and pushed games forward. In even revisiting Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain right now. Absolutely amazing how it looks and what we can do all these years later.

Probably the most underrated of the entire series.

But this is the remaster, it's been touched up more than people realise. Anyway, the OG looked great too. I remember reading interviews at the time about how much they were tweaking the graphics and checking how they looked on a huge variety of screens.

Final Fantasy games up to the PS2 era always felt like sth special. PS3/360 games felt kinda off imo. Personally think modern FF games are garbo.

Take me back. Simpler times, you put that disc in and just lost yourself for hours. To make this work on a ps2 blows my mind I need to watch a documentary of the devs explaining how they did it it would be fascinating. So much craftmanship at the time.

If only the combat were better. I would play this game again.
