How close is the debate between Jeremiah Smith and Malachi Toney?

The take: Toney impacts: Return game - you basically can’t punt to the guy. Run game - he’s their best jet sweep weapon and has several TDs Passing game - obviously as a pass catcher but he’s got passing TDs outta wildcat. I’m just saying… Lotta ways to win.

You would need to have a halfway decent QB to get the most out of any WR, not just JJ. I think you’re giving Toney a little too much credit as a PR/run threat, he averages 1.4 carries a game at 4.9 YPC with a season long of just 13 yards. His 12.9 yards on PR is good for sure, but i wouldn’t say that he’s a threat to take it to the house every time either (zero PR TD’s in his career) definitely JJ…..and it’s really not that close imo.

I think Malachi Toney is immensely talented. That said, any NFL GM that would take him before Jeremiah deserves termination.

If given only one , I think Jeremiahs size, strength, speed and catching radius is worth emptying the NIL reserve. He forces a particular defensive look that opens opportunities elsewhere.

JJ is a freak of a WR and Toney affects the game is many different ways. The debate is closer than what many think.

With all due respect to Malachi Toney, he’s not a generational talent like JJ. There are plenty of dudes like Toney in the NFL currently.

When I said it, people thought I was just being a fan. But Malachi Toney is more valuable as a player than Jeremiah Smith. And if Toney is over 6’0 200 there would be no conversation at all. For the NFL, based on measurements only, I’d take Smith over Toney though.

I’ve thought long and hard about this and I might be looking through green and orange glasses but if you told me I could trade Malachi Toney for any player in the nation I can honestly say NO TRADE!!!🙌
