Real crab is way more expensive, so surimi was invented in Japan in the 1970s as an affordable alternative. It's actually pretty nutritious (high protein, low fat) and safe, but yeah, not crab.

Don't touch me!!!!

Did I miss the part when crab is used?

YUM! People try to gross me out over this sort of thing, but it doesn't work.

I've never heard of, seen or eaten a crab stick, and by the look of this - thank God.

Crab is just in the name and contains only starch, egg whites and crab flavoring to create a firm, springy texture!

They’re made from fish paste, shaped and flavored to taste like crab, then cooked or steamed.

Crab sticks, also known as surimi, are made from white fish like pollock. The fish is minced, washed, mixed with starch and flavoring, then shaped, colored, and cooked to mimic real crab meat.

What is a crab stick? Is this the imitation crab?

Crab sticks contain no crab, similar to baby oil 😂

Fish, flour, salt, artificial flavour... No Crab.

Narry a crab to be seen!

Those plates at the beginning is tofu?

Gross.

I'm never eating a crab stick again 😧

Soylent Green

I don't want to eat. Cooking food is fruitful because we are grateful and awe for the succession from life to life. Because if you waste your life to make it in large quantities and sell it in large quantities, even the same thing will be poisonous.

😱😱😱🤢

Horrific!

Eh, I'm still gonna eat them. Tasty and healthy.

Sans crab.

I get really bad migraines if l ever eat them - now l know why - don’t eat them any more

What is that? Pollack?

🤢🤮

Hi

😆 🤣 😂

Consistency and quality you can see and taste! So much quicker and more satisfying that trying to crack open and peel the meat out of real crabs.

Imitation Crab is made from surimi (ground fish.)

Oh Shit It’s not organic
