How did comic readers watch this comfortably knowing damn well comic Doom could NEVER go down like this?

BC we watched the film? Admittedly, it's not that great, although I think it's better than the hate it gets. The movie is an origin story for Doom and the Fantastic Four, who get their powers from the same accident. In this film, Doom is not yet a master sorcerer. He is a genius intellect, but so is Reed Richards, his rival, and it's four on one. So it's the first iteration of his armor, and no sorcery to augment the character. Even at that the final fight is a bit anticlimactic and short, but you can't compare this Doom to say God Doom or sorcerer supreme Doom, or Doom after he steals the power cosmic. Even so, I didn't think Julian McMahon was a bad choice for the character.

Can't wait to see Doomsday fr, I want to see that God level doom in action

There are different Dooms in the comics. Normal Doom is not that strong. The Fantastic Four can take Doom normally, but there are other versions that are more powerful

You have to watch these like they're new "year-one" reimagining comics. He doesn't go down really. Just lost this battle. Doom's greatest powers are his ego, intelligence, ambition and knowledge. In this film he almost entirely lacks the knowledge he needs to become the legend.

The Fantastic 4 has beat Dr. Doom several times in the comics, so not sure what you're getting at. He's one of their core villains. They beat him in 1962 Fantastic Four #6, 1963 FF #17, 1964 FF Annual #2, 1966-1967 FF #57-60 "Doomsday" arc, 1978 FF#200, 1981 FF #236, 2003 FF#500

Nobody knows what can or can’t kill him off? This film’s an origin story for all involved. It’s a popcorn movie of the early 00s. It was for the masses who didn’t need to know the background comic history.

Because if you watch the movie you will see that Doom did not go down, which is why there's a Sequel...and it's the origin part of his story, he still hadn't mastered his abilities yet
