How did Red Dead Redemption 2 not win GOTY?

Because another GOTY worthy game came out that year.

A better game came out that same year BOY

I purchased this game like 4 years ago, I tried paying it at least 3 times and it just feels like a fucking chore I know it's like amazing and shit but I just can't get into it, it's woefully unexciting idk

It was up against good competition, Kratos name is strong enough to push any title, Arthur Morgan was just coming on scene it can't happen again.

I had more fun with GOW 2018 than RDR2.

I mean... We're talking about TGA. Most of the voters probably never turned on a console.

Hate to say it but God Of War 2018 deserved it.

Because the greatest game in the world came out the same year GOD OF WAR. with a better story. Better character, better graphics and better gameplay.

You expected that on GSA (Geoff's Sony Awards) the reincarnation of god of war would lose to ANYTHING? Feel grateful that it won best sound design and best music 😂😂😂

I notice all these "Why didn't RDR2 win goty??" always show a panning camera or just walking in a straight line, but never any actual *GAMEPLAY* That should be your answer

8 years have passed and people still complain about it losing goty like it matters, oh my god, move onnnnn. If GTA 6 doesn't win goty, it's insufferable fans will do the same for the next decade

As amazing as RDR2 was and is, a lot of it was just riding around admiring the scenery. GoW was constantly moving and had an incredible storyline and graphics. Both are masterpieces in my book.

Because people with short attention spans voted and they struggle to concentrate long enough for a 5 minute horse ride

I love RDR2. It's one of the greatest games of all time. But God of War 2018 is better.

RDR3 over GTA 6 for me

RDR2 won over 175 Game of the Year awards from various outlets. The Game Awards still awarded RDR2 4 other bests for story/narrative, score, audio design, and preformance. God of War deserved to win a GOTY title at the TGA’s and RDR2 did not in any way lack for awards.

Beecause whoeever chose the GOTY that year wasn't a Gamer. GOW 2018 was utter dreadful.

Anyone that thinks GoW is a better game is a numbnut 🤷‍♂️
