How did they get so much right?

Their conversation regarding drugs/tranquilizing populations is a massive part of Brave New World. When I read it in 2013 I was astonished. It's only gotten worse since then. I wonder where we will be in another 60 years.

Also reminds me of Terry Gilliam’s Brazil

There are two things that are interesting to me, the first is we used to care a lot more about privacy. Second, how did we change our minds to slowly trade away more and privacy? I think the free apps from Big Tech, in exchange for ad data opened the flood gates. Too easy for any government not to piggy back on that.

So they have been working on this for a long time.

O(pause)M(pause)G(stop). The thing that gets me is how openly "drugging the populace" is communicated. My question is "why did the populace not react way back then?" Were we already drugged?

Surveillance isn’t anything new; it’s a tool that was first mechanized then electrified and now automated.

Incredible stuff. If these subjects interest you, I can’t recommend highly enough the short sci-fi novel by the great 20th century Polish author Stanisław Lem, “The Futurological Congress”!

and how do people dig and find these gems?

@TruthWarri51340 If you can imagine it, somebody will eventually do it. You can also assume everything has the potential for good and evil. It's not an issue of technology; it's an issue of human nature.

Very similar to Brave New World
