@hhyacchi Well most times people just see grooming as "this person dated someone younger" which isnt necessarily true since grooming isnt just about age but I think that yeah if you lied about your age you cannot whine about the age gap part of it

@hhyacchi Grooming refers to when an adult knowingly courts a minor until they are old enough to legally engage, or even before then. Age is definitionally a large factor in this. Not all abusive relationships are grooming. Abuse is still bad even if it's not grooming.

@hhyacchi Anyone can be emotionally and physically manipulated regardless of age. Lying about someone's age only matters if there's pedophile accusations being thrown around. Faking age can trick an adult into a relationship they would have otherwise avoided, which can ruin one's image

@hhyacchi That's not how it works. Age has a HUGE role in it due to mature age gaps, for example I'll tell a real story that happened: a famous 11 year old girl got canceled for 'grooming' her gf. a 11 year old cannot groom a 10 year old, they don't understand the complexity of it

@hhyacchi People tend to forget that ANYONE can get groomed, not just children. Though being fair the majority of grooming instances involve a child so it would be easy to get confused

@hhyacchi I think it's kinda valid unless the groomer realizes the person they're grooming is a minor (or someone much younger) or have a photo where the person clearly doesn't look accurate for their age and still continue with the grooming
