How do you even discover you have talent like this

I've learnt, you don't discover, you harness it. You train. You develop it. This is so beautiful

You discover this talent by painting, and then painting some more, and then painting some more. Most talents work that way. One of our tasks in life is try enough things to find out where our special talents may be, and then to do it, and do it again, and again, and again. Amen.

Talent is bullshit. Passion and practice is reality. Talent is religious propaganda that should be removed from all language.

I don't care if people think it's down to "techniques", because it IS, BUT....there is also simplicity in that process above. A broad-brush start, to cover a white canvas, then refining it down to the details. Nice colour balance too. Practise, practise.

I have a cousin who never painted. She went to a painting pub night and now she does comissions. Her career took off in like 6 months. She didn't do anything but pick up a brush and smear paint around with it.
