Here’s the question no one on the left wants to answer: If America is systemically racist and permanently broken… how does a family go from slavery to West Point to combat deployments to United States Congress in just a few generations? That story doesn’t exist everywhere. It exists here. Let’s have that conversation.

I was not always a mother who knew. In fact, I remember bristling at this part of Sis. Beck's talk. I was a young mother of three small, busy boys, and the last thing I wanted to be told was that my role in the grand plan of happiness was to do dishes and laundry. If I only knew then what I know now. What I know now is how truly important it is for a mother to be home with her children. That the "mundane" tasks of motherhood actually refine a woman. That serving your family only increases your love for them. That there is nothing more beneficial for your children than cultivating and creating a home where they are safe, loved and taught the principles of the gospel. That what the world offers is only a distraction from what's most important. I'd love to say that I'm now perfect at doing the dishes, the laundry and keeping my home. I am not. But I no longer feel like those tasks are a burden. I see them as a meaningful and important contribution to the most important thing in all of time and eternity...my family.

The prayer just said at the Medal of Honor ceremony reminds us of why we can never forget the sacrifce our bravest make to secure our nation: "Almighty God, you are our rock, our fortress, and the sustainer of this nation. Every perfect gift comes from your hand, and we give you glory for the courage you have woven into the soul of our armed forces. You teach us that true devotion is proven in sacrifice, and today, we honor these three patriots who, on the field of battle, proved their devotion to their comrades and their nation. Father, we thank you for Major Dockery, who braved a ferocious ambush and at times shielded his men. For Major Capers, who despite grievous wounds refu- refused to yield, and for the enduring legacy of Colonel Ripley, who through a hail of gunfire halted a massive advance by the enemy. In their heroic actions, we see the living truth of your Word, "Greater love has no one than this, that they lay down their life for their friends." Their profound sacrifice in moments of extreme peril blesses us still today. Now, Lord, we ask you to move in our hearts. Pour your abundant strength into our service members and their families. No one has been a fiercer defender of our history than me. When I walked straight into the lion’s den on Real Time with Bill Maher, we had an honest conversation about Robert E. Lee, and rejecting the woke reimagining of our history. By the time it was over, even liberals had to acknowledge the truth. As a West Point graduate who lived in Robert E. Lee Barracks, I bring real perspective. Three West Pointers came from my home. A Black family raised with conservative values, faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a deep commitment to service. Service is in our blood. Respect for American values is in our character. Rejecting the institutional destruction pushed by the radical left has always been my mission, and it always will be.

I met Jesus when I was seven years old at Champion Fourth Baptist Church. Years later, my faith was tested in combat. I flew 55 missions over Baghdad. Before every flight, I knelt at the back of that helicopter, said the Lord’s Prayer, and got right with God, because there was no promise I’d make it home. I was raised in a family where service and sacrifice mattered. My dad served. My brother, sister, and I all graduated from West Point. That didn’t happen by accident. John 15:13 says there’s no greater love than laying down your life for your friends. We’re all imperfect, but the closest we can get to Christ is through service. That’s why I served in combat. And that’s why I’m running for Senate, to keep serving, to honor God, and to stand for the values Texans believe in: faith, family, and love of country.

I am living Dr. King’s dream. Here in Texas, I am judged not by the color of my skin, but by the content of my character. I flew 55 combat missions as an Apache helicopter pilot. I’m a West Point graduate, as are my brother and sister. My father is a retired U.S. Army colonel. Nearly 60 years of military service runs through my immediate family. I’m a God-fearing husband and father. I was born in Texas. I’ll die here. And I’m committed to leaving this state better than I found it for them. None of this is about race. It’s about service, faith, family, and responsibility. That’s what I love about Texas.
