It’s a combination of both the inability to jump more than 2-inches (eg simply watch women’s basketball) and bad coaching. Outfielders are taught to get to/find the wall and then time your jump.

I think there are some who would try but they don't train wall jumping in softball that I'm aware and she could get injured. I'm all for robbing a hitter but this batter earned it.

I think the REAL answer is that she thought she had it.

It looked like she had it all the way, and it just went off her glove, almost like it went through it. Feel for her. To have made a top tier D-1 softball team you have to be outstanding, and even more so to be in the field late in the tourney. To have that happen... damn
