This video gives a rare glimpse into the "fishy" proclivities of wolves in our area. The video was taken in spring just a short distance from a creek wolves have fished at for many years. This past spring was the 10th year we have documented wolves hunting and catching fish—a behavior that had not been documented in boreal systems such as ours until our work, in part, because it is a tough behavior to observe. What is particularly fascinating is that this wolf was not only carrying a fish but carrying two of them. This is interesting because when we captured this behavior on video for the first time in 2018, we observed a wolf fishing, drop them on the creek bank, and wade back in to continue fishing. I.e., the wolf was not immediately consuming the fish it caught but rather fishing while the fishing was hot, and then once the fishing cooled down, would consume the fish. And this video seems to provide some additional evidence that it might be a widespread strategy wolves use. Two other interesting tidbits from this video: 1.) The wolf that dropped the fish was a yearling wolf. The wolf that grabbed the fish at the end was a different wolf. More specifically, the breeding female of the Half-Moon Pack and the older sister of the yearling wolf. 2.) Surprisingly, the black bear seemed very perplexed at finding this fish, and just left it alone without even taking a little nibble. We would have expected a bear to readily take a free meal like this but apparently not. We have collected of detailed information on how, when, where, and why wolves hunt fish in our area. This man’s poor grandmother suffers from dementia, so she has sundowner’s symptoms that seems to get worst. However he is unaware of the condition and is convinced she’s possessed by evil spirits. She’s not getting the comfort or the help she deserves or needs. I understand how frightening her behavior can be, but most of the time there is always a logical explanation. Do you know anyone with sundowner’s syndrome how do you address and help with this?

What do ya suggest we call this behavior? 📸: Erick.Higuera/IG The female argonaut octopus shown here is demonstrating impressive social behavior that you’ve most likely never seen before… 👀 Picture this: a bunch of fearless octo-mothers, who have been working their whole lives to build the perfect egg casing by secreting calcite out of their arms, banding together to protect one another. That’s what we think these female argonauts are doing. Instead of braving the ocean solo, they lock arms and bring the most squishy & exposed parts of their bodies together. 🗣️ Argonaut to Argonaut: “Do you want to form an alliance with me?” “Absolutely I do.” Each female puts herself at risk to safeguard the eggs of her fellow sisters. It’s difficult to watch— but believe it or not, there is NO research on this behavior. Not only is this behavior admirable, but it also suggests that octopuses are capable of complex social behavior that is not yet fully understood. The sense of unity and cooperation in female argonauts’ actions is truly inspiring. These behaviors challenge the common belief that octopuses are solitary animals and show a level of intelligence that is still being researched. We recently shared the news of our male wolverine Edward’s groundbreaking eye procedure. As part of his recovery, he is given a series of eye-drops on a daily basis. Many of you asked, how do you give eye drops to a wolverine? One of his caretakers, Sammy, demonstrates here how it’s done! As you can see, Edward is trained to take the drops, and can opt out if he chooses to. Thanks to our training and behavior team, working with our carnivore staff, for their efforts to make this necessary treatment easy for both keeper and wolverine!

Well through your NJ electric bills! Starting July 1st 2027, a "minimum" of $60M will be collected via the societal benefits charges or SBC Might be asking yourself, what's an SBC? When first digging into why our bills were so high in February this year I had no idea, but They are hidden charges in your electric bills to pay for mostly pet projects The Board of Public Utilities or BPU, recommends the SBC funding level for 2025 to be?......anyone here know? It's over $344M per year in our NJ electric bills Why don't we go over a few these programs, Ever Heard of Charge Up New Jersey? It's a program that gives folks up to $4,250 dollars for buying Electric Vehicles and chargers. This is costing NJ residents over $30 million dollars a year in their electric bills How about 'It Pay$ to Plug In', this program has spent $100M since 2012 on EV chargers in your electric Bill! This program cost ratepayers $27M this year alone as an SBC Per year Electric Vehicle Programs total $82.5M, Clean Energy Equity costs us $16.6M, NJ Wind total $22M and Energy Storage is currently costing the rate payers $29.5M per year, just to stress again this bill your voting on today will jump it up to $60M a year at a minimum! More than double it's current total Why is all this in our New Jersey Electric Bills? Want to know the real problem NJ? Democrats here have been pillaging your pockets, nickel and diming you year after year for pet projects in your electric bills. Now with the rake hikes happening, they are frantically trying to steamroll multiple bills in committees in an effort to deflect from the main issue Since 2017 - 6 power plants have closed totaling over half our power here in NJ, Democrats championed coal and nuclear plants being shut down, betting on Windfarms that never happened, this is a huge reason our electric bills are so high here, we need sensible solutions, not a green agenda storage push that caused this mess New Jersey residents pay over $8,100 more per year than the average American Household on their bills and pay around $700 more per month in overall bills compared to the national average My handle receives so many messages, comments, concerns from citizens that are struggling daily, some working 2 to 3 jobs, this state is becoming more unaffordable each and every day, and bills coming out of this Legislature that add to that burden, are not good for the hardworking people of New Jersey We are already hurting with the worst property and corporate taxes, one of the worst income and gas tax rates, and the absolute worst overall tax burden at over 54% of your lifetime earnings being syphoned from our NJ residents How much more do you want to take from us? How do you justify so much money hidden in our electric bills yearly? This endless spending path is unsustainable, we need more money in our pockets, not less Voting yes for this literally raises our electric bills yet again, is that really what you want to do to the people of NJ? PRACTICE TO GAME RATIO This is one of the things that is backwards in our country. Yes, you need to play. Yes, you can learn while playing…. But how many High School/College games do you see where players don’t know how to Space, Screen, Execute, Pass, Finish with Both Hands…. We spend our youth years trying to win games and tournaments instead of learning how to play. You can’t get that time back to build your foundation.
