The dad did a perfect job. He also taught the kid not to panic by remaining calm and controlling the situation. Dad had a lifevest on the child, and if you've ever jumped in to save a kid panicking in the water you'll understand why this is the best way to save the kid

Exactly

It’s basically a rule of life: teenagers get mad at their parents. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have a relationship with them. If you want to know how to build a connection with your kid (even if they’re mad at you), read this:

Gen X here My dad would have made that much more of a thing to laugh about and I would have known that the louder I got the worse the situation would have become for me. I am glad for that.

I thought the dad did a great job. I would have caught more flack too

He was perfect. He stayed calm and got the boy out of the water. Hopefully his son will learn from this.

PFD on. “Don’t do that again”. Case closed.

Lived on a lake, my relatives did this shit on purpose without a life jacket. We could all swim like fish by 4 years old. Best way to save a kid is to teach him to live.

My brother was in a small metal boat with my father and grandfather. He fell overboard and came back up so fast, they said he wasn't even wet. He thought he touched an alligator. They laughed at him and we still laugh at him 'til this day. He was never in any danger.

Dad did a good job! 👏🏼

@Nevermoore82 Father handled it perfectly.
