I wonder how many were done before the optimum locations for the sutures were figured out ?

I blew out my Achilles tendon and the Doc said it looked like two opposing mop heads. He used what he called a box suture with just a slit up the inside of my ankle. The tendon ends were lined up and grew together. I was able to resume playing soccer six months later.

Just curious but why wouldn't you use a tap to make the hole in the bone threaded and use a torx headed screw that is a flush type with a type of loctite that goes in the bone i honestly would love the feedback just curious

🤔 fascinating also if the gap in the tear it’s large and a specialist is able to treat it right away it can reattach by itself
