It would be considered rude to just walk up to someone and ask to see their house...Japanese people cant say No so she was sweet about it...but I would consider this bad manners.

Why would you just walk up to someone randomly and ask to see their house? It's so rude and creepy no matter how politely you ask. I'd never let in a stranger like that. I'm surprised this Japanese woman said yes.
