TESLA FSD V14.2.1.25 TAKES ON BLIZZARD CONDITIONS! On Thursday, I had the displeasure of driving through yet another winter storm—this time a full-blown blizzard! A good chunk of the drive involved navigating whiteout conditions caused by heavy snow and 40+ mph winds. I expected to intervene quite a bit, but I came away completely blown away by how well FSD v14.2.1.25 handled the whiteout conditions. RUSH HOUR TORTURE TEST W/ FSD V14.1.3! Last night I had some time to kill after my workout and decided to put FSD v14.1.3 to the test once again in rush hour. Instead of going straight home from the gym, we went to Best Buy, as well as other parts of the metro where we previously experienced repeated issues with v13. Along the way, we recognized several improvements, including proper identification and avoidance of an approaching of police vehicle which was super exciting! On top of these improvements, we also experienced several issues including: - Several episodes of brake/throttle pumping at intersections - Swerving for phantom objects on the highway - Routing issues near downtown St Paul & I-35E that resulted in missing the exit 3 times! - Autopark picking the wrong parking spot twice Even with these issues, I remain confident that v14 has more potential than v13 ever did, and I'm excited for the comfort-related improvements planned for the upcoming v14.2 release (which is just around the corner). 00:00 - Intro To First Drive 00:22 - Inconsistency - FSD Start From Park Now Works From Garage? 01:34 - Comments About Today’s Weather Conditions 01:55 - Issue - Brake / Throttle Pumping Before Unprotected Left Turn 03:19 - Issue - More Brake / Throttle Pumping 04:16 - More Commentary About Braking Improvements w/ FSD v14 05:27 - FSD Confidently Reacts To Hesitating VRU 06:20 - Destination Parking Setting Change: Street Parking 07:57 - Possible Improvement - Better Line Selection On Wider City Street 08:45 - Round 2 w/ Busy Unprotected Left Turn Onto West 7th Street 10:06 - Issue - Autopark Parks In A “No Parking” Zone 11:51 - Confirmed Improvement - Start From Park Is Leaps & Bounds Better in FSD v14 w/ Model S 12:36 - Tricky Unprotected Left Turn Is No Match For FSD v14! 13:24 - Possible Improvement - FSD v14.1.3 Respects No Turn On Red Sign! 14:32 - Confirmed Improvement - FSD v14 Reacts Faster To Navigation Changes 15:13 - Confirmed Improvement - FSD v14 Shows Improved Handling Of MN-style On Ramps 16:55 - Issue - FSD Unnecessarily Hesitates w/ Auto Lane Change On Highway 18:32 - Issue - FSD Tries To Re-route But Fails To Make Exit 18:45 - Issue - FSD Tries To Re-route For 2nd Time And Misses The Exit Again 20:35 - Smooth Braking From Highway Speed 21:27 - FSD v14.1.3 Aces First U-Turn 22:09 - FSD v14.1.3 Handles Direct Sunlight Like A Champ! 22:40 - FSD Tackles More Direct Sunlight Without Flinching! 23:26 - Confirmed Improvement - FSD Now Properly Detects & Moves Out Of The Way Of Emergency Vehicles! 24:53 - Issue - FSD Swerves For Phantom Object 25:29 - Tight Cloverleaf Onto MN-36 From I-35E North Presents No Issues For FSD v14.1.3 26:16 - FSD Once Again Tackles Intense Direct Sunlight 28:48 - Confirmed Improvement - Better Line & Speed Selection On Curvy Off Ramp 31:06 - Issue - Autopark Parks In Handicapped Parking Spot 31:26 - Commentary On Good & Bad w/ FSD v14.1.3 34:37 - Intro to Third Drive 35:19 - Commentary About Reverse Usage When Start FSD From Park Is Activated 36:10 - FSD v14.1.3 Properly Detects & Slows For Speed Bump 37:27 - FSD Handles U-Turn At Busy Intersection Near Rosedale Mall 38:19 - Driver Nag Updates w/ FSD v14.1.3 38:57 - Confirmed Improvement - Better Handling Of MN-Style On Ramps Especially When We Are The Lead Vehicle 40:43 - Possible Improvement - FSD Properly Handles I-35E South Fork! 44:34 - FSD Tackles Yet Another Tricky Unprotected Left Turn Even With Poor Visibility 47:27 - Confirmed Improvement - FSD v14 No Longer Uses Oncoming Lane Before Unprotected Left Turn 48:41 - Comment About Chill Speed Profile On City Streets 52:05 - Issue - “Driveway” Destination Park Option Not Available 53:00 - FSD Recognizes Alley Is Blocked & Re-Routes Automatically! 54:06 - Autopark Fail & Closing Thoughts If you are interested in seeing how Tesla FSD performs in the Twin Cities, please like & follow/subscribe. 🤖FSD V14.2 First Impressions Drive 🚗 Although the release notes made this update seem small - it feels to me like this is the refinement we have been waiting for in V14. All of my driving today was very smooth with no brake issues - I drove through HEAVY construction, parking lots, highways, etc and had no issues at all related to braking. We did run into a problem where the car got stuck trying to leave the parking lot - this is a problem that a larger context window would likely fix. If someone tells you Mercedes "Level 3" DrivePilot is more advanced than Tesla FSD, they are either clueless or lying to you. Mercedes DrivePilot: 1. Only works on certain models of the top end S class and EQS with special hardware. So only some versions of their most expensive car support it, or almost no cars. By contrast any Tesla built since October 2016 can run FSD. 2. Only works on pre-mapped highways in California or Nevada. By contrast Tesla FSD works on any road, highway or city streets across North America (and soon, Europe and China) 3. You must be in a traffic jam on the highway traveling under 40 miles per hour. By contrast FSD allows you to go up to 85 miles per hour. 4. You must have a vehicle right in front of you to follow, if they pull too far ahead you will be asked to take over. By contrast FSD does not require a lead vehicle. 5. You must have clear lane markings — if they are faded you will be asked to take over. By contrast FSD works without any lane markings. 6. Only works in good weather — if it's rainy, foggy, sun shining directly at car, etc you will be asked to take over. By contrast FSD works in a wide range of inclement weather conditions (but of course has limits too) 7. Only works in the daytime. Does not turn on at night. By contrast FSD works 24 hours a day. 8. You have to click ok to accept the first time you turn it on per drive. By contrast FSD just turns on without requiring you to click ok 9. DrivePilot still has a driver monitoring system that will beep at you / ask you to take over if you do anything that is not allowed (like leaning too far back) 10. You may be asked to take over at any moment for any reason and need to be ready to do so within 10 seconds. 11. If you don't take control, the vehicle will come to a dead stop in the middle of the highway 12. DrivePilot cannot handle interchanges or change lanes. By contrast FSD can handle lane changes and interchanges completely automatically. Mercedes can do lane changes in Level 2 mode, but in Level 3 mode you need to do them yourself. You will always need to pay attention to make sure you don't miss the exit 13. "Don't think of it as a fully automated do everything for you sytem. It's more like Level 2 enhanced, but enhanced in a really impressive way" 14. Relies on HD mapping to function. Mercedes needs to build and maintain these maps or the system will not work. The system does not work anywhere the maps don't go, such as city streets. 15. System is so reliant on maps to tell the car where to drive that they have to account for things like continental drift 16. When the system asks you to take over, you're sent back into manual driving mode — all lane keeping is turned off 17. Once it goes out of its operating conditions, you are liable again. So, for example, if someone changes lanes and there's no longer a lead car in front of you the system suddenly turns off, stops in the middle of the highway, and you're liable again "so it's always good to pay attention, even when these systems are on" (so what is the benefit exactly?) 18. Because mapping is so expensive to maintain, it costs $2,500 a year. By contrast FSD costs only $1,200 a year. It does so much more for less than half the price, and works on any Tesla. 19. No way to retrofit DrivePilot onto a car that doesn't have the LIDAR etc 20. "I came away from my time with DrivePilot a bit mystified. It's clear that developing this system was a complicated endeavor, with all the added sensors and complexity and while it was on I have to say it worked pretty flawlessly. But with the operating conditions being so narrow, I couldn't shake the thought of 'is this all worth it?' from my head. Even trying to film this video was difficult, as the vehicle would hand control back just as we were getting going especially with that low 40 mph speed threshold. And if I were paying $2,500 a year to use this system and it wouldn't stay on, I would find that pretty frustrating" It is crazy and sad that people are being so misinformed about important safety technologies that could save or change their lives. If anyone tells you this system is more advanced than anything else out there, they are either a moron or a liar.

8 drives in with FSD v14.1.2 and here are my thoughts: First off, Mad Max mode is AMAZING in traffic. Drove down to Hawthorne on my first drive in rush hour and it cut through traffic so well. An hour drive without any human input was great. The other Speed Profiles seem like they make slightly more difference than before. Standard is perfect on city streets, hurry is a bit quicker and the lane changes are more assertive than v14.1.1. Mad Max is a bit quick at times on city streets with nobody around, as expected. The assertive lane changes are my second favorite change, after mad max. It doesn’t wait around a bit like v14.1 and v14.1.1, it commits and sends it if safe, love it. I have NOT really seen any brake stutter yet, seems gone so far. I saw one instance of slight steering wheel shaking but that’s it over the last few hours. Few things to note with Mad Max. It’s fast, but it’s very safe. It’s not going to cut people off- it makes great decisions and they’re clearly calculated. It is NOT like the Altima with a missing bumper you see flying through traffic, it’s very controlled and I love it. This is exactly what we needed for LA and it’s almost how I like to drive through traffic and how you have to drive through LA. Lane changes in each profile seem improved in this build too. Definitely noticeably better and more confident. With parking garages, I’m seeing good performance, but to note- 1 of 4 garage attempts so far it went further from the ticket booth than it used to. Feels like maybe .1 had better lot performance, but I’m going to a lot of driving tonight to make sure. It definitely obeys no right on red signs, I’ve seen it listen to every single one perfectly so far, even obscure signs. It moves over for lane splitting motorcycles well before I can see them- this increases safety for everyone especially the motorcyclists and they appreciate it. A couple of them have waved at me tonight alone to thank me. Moved over for the two construction zones I have encountered thus far, and slowed down. Standard seems like the Goldilocks profile when on city streets with no traffic to follow- doesn’t speed much and usually travels at the perfect speed. Mad max is fast when nobody around- but really good speed control when there’s cars on the road. When you enable FSD from park, I love how quickly it gets going. If it’s safe, it goes right away, feels like it’s always waiting and ready to go. Pretty awesome improvement over v13 and continually impresses me. Autosteer and TACC are back, will get some miles accumulated on autosteer for those wondering if it’s changed at all, but I don’t think it has much if it did. Here’s a 15 minute zero intervention drive just now from Santa Monica supercharger to Rodeo Drive, where it obeyed a one way sign to the little parking lot and went the next entrance in once it saw. I’m going to drive this more through the night, and then will take it out during rush hour a lot. Huge shoutout to Tesla AI teams for getting these releases out so quickly. They’re making magic happen. More to come, but I’m loving what I’m seeing!

10 drives in with FSD v14.1 and here are all my thoughts. First of all- wow. Zero disengagements or interventions thus far. The confidence and overall human like driving is next level. The steering inputs are so smooth, braking inputs are earlier and more linear than before. It gives off Robotaxi vibes with how it navigates parking lots, plus how it drives and how quickly it backs into a parking spot. Such a nice experience to ride along with it. Seeing FSD now navigate parking garages is so cool. When you enter it waits for the arm to open after you get your ticket, proceeds in and finds a parking space. When you leave it does the same thing, gets close to the ticket stand and then proceeds. Really fascinating to see in person. It really sometimes feels like FSD can now read signs in the garage to guide it to the exit. Brought it to the back corner of a garage and it found its way out. Hurry mode is awesome, quick and more assertive than before, while also being smoother with less unnecessary lane changes. Sloth mode is what you’d expect- exact speed limit and gentle driving. Icons are cool and easy to change. When you start FSD from park, there’s no delay. It starts right away and leaves in a split second. Really good improvement. I love being able to select the Arrival Options if I am parking curbside or in a charger, it also automatically chooses depending on where you navigate to. It perfectly parks at Superchargers, tried it at the Tesla Diner and at the Santa Monica supercharger and both times it was excellent. Always centered in the lines and it parks better and quicker than the majority of humans do. Only thing so far to note is one instance of slight braking when going around a bus blocking a lane, was probably not even 1/2 of a second and dropped 1-2mph but felt it. Super super minor. Had FSD v14 move over for construction, a loose cone on a dark road, and obey a worker holding a stop sign. All of them were smooth and felt human like or better. It pulls in and out of my driveway great, doesn’t hesitate at all as well as when at chargers. Everything has a quicker response time. Curbside is cool too as it pulls right up against the curb perfectly in a parking spot. This release now means now 100% of your driving can now be done on FSD. From your driveway into a parking garage. Elon was right when he said it would feel sentient, and this isn’t even v14.2 yet. The Tesla AI team COOKED with this update. It’s phenomenal. Huge congrats to them for such an epic release. This is a HUGE update and I can’t wait to drive it more. It’s now 5am so I’m going to attempt to get some sleep, but tons more driving and videos coming later today as soon as I can. Thanks everyone for following along.

7 drives in with FSD v14.1.1 and here’s my first thoughts: - Everything v14.1 did, it does and more. Exactly the same great performance as expected but better. - ALL my drives were zero intervention around LA tonight. Did really well in parking garages like v14.1. Circled until it finds a spot and backs right in. Did a few loops in/out of the mall garage and it was fantastic. - v14.1.1 has the added benefit of some better lane discipline on highway and lack of brake stutter which some reported. Didn’t see any tonight at all- I didn’t see too much on the previous build, but it was there. - It had a sentient moment where it saw a group of 100+ cyclists taking over a street and without even hesitating it took a different way, even though the navigation wanted it to go straight. Exactly what a human would want to do, it signaled through a tight spot to the turn lane, got in the turn lane and got the heck outta there. It was wild to watch in person and worth a watch on that video. - It is obeying no right turn on red signs, no issue there. Also, insanely smooth merges onto freeway and it enters at the perfect speed. - One thing I’d love to see improved is more assertive lane changes in traffic. It will put the turn signal on and be unsure, which takes a bit, would love to see it be less hesitant. - This build (and v14.1) are AWESOME at merges. Really noticeably improved and drives like a human (and even drives better than most) - v14.1 was great, but v14.1.1 adds the polish it needed to make it smoother around the edges. Really really solid performance tonight. - Really good lane discipline on highway in Hurry mode. It does not camp in the left lane and makes a really good lane choices + selection to get around people. When nobody is around it likes to be in the number 2 lane which is the proper way to do it. - I love how it moves close to the ticket machine in garages, really nice touch and it pulls up to the perfect spot where you can reach and grab the ticket. Will test some drive thrus and other scenarios tomorrow. In this video, you could see it leave the Century City parking garage and drive through Cheviot Hills to the Culver City supercharger where it navigates on top of the parking structure and parks. During this strive in encountered and obeyed 2 no right turn on red signs, speed bumps, dips, a roundabout and the freeway. So impressive to see it make its way there without issue and it’s not even labeled. Really awesome. Excellent work Tesla AI teams getting this o it so quickly, can’t wait to drive it more and see it roll wider hopefully!

I've never heard Elon Musk be so bullish on Tesla ⚡️ here's my video analysis of the $TSLA Q4 2024 earnings call: -Robotaxi launch in Austin, June 2025 -California & other states launch robotaxi late 2025 -Cybercab in 2026 -Optimus V1 in 2025, 1K/month production line -Optimus V2 in 2026, 10K/month production line -2026 good year for Tesla, 2027/28 insanely good & more!! Timestamps- 0:00 Intro 0:44 Elon Opening Remarks 13:29 SAY Retail Questions 22:37 Analyst Questions 25:04 Gali Final Thoughts/Rant also here are my notes I typed during the conference call if you're interested! (may be errors) Tesla Q4 2024 Earnings Call Notes INTRO- ELON OPENING REMARKS -Q4 set record, delivered cars at rate of almost 2M cars/year -Model Y best-selling vehicle of any kind on earth (elon focused and talking quickly) -10Xing on autonomy, not doubling -many investments made this year that will bear immense fruit in the future, for AI -see a path for Tesla to the worlds most valuable company by far, worth more than the next 5 companies combined, difficult but achievable path -overwhelmingly due to autonomous vehicles and autonomous robots -setting up for an epic 2026, and ridiculously good 2027 and 2028 -meeting FSD now is like meeting a toddler -human intuition is linear, we’re seeing exponential progress -#1 recommendation is try it -typical passenger car has 10 hours of use out of 168, when its autonomous, itll be used for 55 hours a week … can deliver packages in the middle of thenight, or supply restaurants, all hours of the day or night. 5X increase in utility -more on self driving, continued improvements in safety numbers, much safer to use FSD -V14 will be another big step from V13 -launched CORTEX training cluster at Giga Austin, big step for FSD, continue to invest in training needs -Optimus training needs are about 10X what’s needed for the car -cost of training is dropping dramatically over time -Optimus has potential to be north of $10T in revenue, can put a lot training compute into that situation, even pumping $500B into it would be a good deal -future very different from the past, incredible inflection point in human history -proof is in the pudding -launching in June this year in Austin, already have cars moving autonomously in Fremont, thousands of cars per day driving, soon in Austin then elsewhere in the world -toe in the water at first to make sure everything is cool, but we have a general solution for autonomy , then put a few more toes, then a foot. Safety of the general public and those in the car as the top priority -with regard to Optimus, making insane revenue projections that sound insane, i realize that. But i think they will prove to be accurate -several thousand bots made this year, they will be doing useful things by the end of this year, im confidence, production design one at the tesla factories, then will learn for production design two -ramp optimus production faster than anything has ever launched, doesn’t take very many years before we’er making 100M of these things per year , 500% growth per year -tried using all these suppliers to get it to build Optimus, but nothing worked, had to build it internally from first principles, the hand is increibdle -long term Optimus will be the value of the company -back to Energy,/earth, -energy storage is a big deal, becoming more important, enables far greater energy output to the grid than is currently possible. -grid has no storage, designed for peak storage, lots of waste -once you have grid energy storage, the potential of the grid is unlocked, at least double -this will drive demand of battery packs as to as much as we can possibly make -shanghai factory starting operation, starting another factory -cant shoot our selves in the foot, battery capacity can only go into storage or mobility, so always making that tradeoff -demand for total Gigawatt hours for batteries, transportation or stationary will grow in a very big way over time 2025 a pivotal year for tesla, launch of full self driving, biggest year in tesla history, maybe even bigger than first car or model s, 3 or y … probably most important year in tesla’s history I don’t even know who is in 2nd place in real world AI, would need a telescope to see them SAY QUESTIONS -FSD Unsupervised launched in California this year as well -most likely release it in many regions of the US by the end of this year -40K people day everyday no mention, some scrapes a shin with autonomous car its headlines news -need to use insane amounts of caution -discussions about licensing FSD? Yes -best way to know to work with us, bbuy a car and take it apart -only worth very high volume cars/production partners -tesla engineering very focused on getting it to roll out for tesla first -soon will be obvious that if you don’t have FSD you’re dead as an OEM -is Optimus design locked? -Optimus is not design locked, constantly iterating, best robotics engineers in the world, and other ingredients, battery pack, charging, great electronics, great communications, great connectivity, real world AI, then you need to scale that production to real world levels -prototypes are easy production is hard -thijs year close loop with using optimus internally at tesla, would could obviously use a few thousand robots for the most boring annoying tasks at the company -with production version 2, launches sometime next year, would like beginning, might be middle though, -production line will be doing 10K units per month capacity for v2, first line designing is for roughly 1,000 units per month, then next line will be for 100,000 units per month -could start delivering them late next year, will go so fast, will ramp like crazy, demand will not be a problem, even at a high price, once were above 1M units per year, production costs of optimus will be less than $20,000 -if you compare complexity of optimus to complexity of a car, its much less than a car -price of optimus will be set buy market demand -Semi ramping next year, TCO no brainer, like optimus, will be massive demand, will meaningfully contribute to tesla’s revenue at scale -tesla semi with autonomy, is incredibly valuable -we actually have a shortage of truck drivers here in the US -will HW3 owners need a hardware update, got 12.6 which is like a baby v13, have’t given up on it, releases will trail HW4 releases … “honest answer” is were going to have to upgrade for those who have bought full self driving, will be painful and difficult and we’ll get it done “Happy not many people bought FSD” -solar roof, given up on ramping it? -lots of customer interest despite premium, making easier to install, focused on growth through certified installers, many been installing for many years -supply product to the roofing industry -it’s a premium product like S/X -combined with Tesla powerwall you can be self sufficient for several days ANALYST QUETIONS -robotaxis in Austin and several other cities this year, and next year all over america -america innovates, europe regulates, to release FSD in europe, have to go through massive paperwork through netherlands, then presents to EU in may, some big country committee, nothing we can do to make it happen sooner. -can’t do training in china with video training, publicly available videos in china are being run through the tesla system to be used for training, bus lanes are complicated and a big challenge -tesla can keep manufacturing even if geopolitical tensions rise to very high levels -Pierre question on June in Austin, -can i try unsupervised myself, or will it be the Tesla fleet? -it will be the Tesla fleet testing it, that’s the toe in the water, scrutinizing everything -autonomous ride hailing for money in june -probably next year for you to put your car on network -trump removing EV incentives? -all transport will go electric, can’t be stopped, even planes, will be like stopping the steam engine or combustion engine -only thing holding back EVs was range, and thats a solved problem -right now solving battery production, not demand, big battery retooling for model y coming up, short term impact on output

New episode with Dr. Steve Horvath (Prof Steve Horvath), a pioneer in the field of epigenetic aging clocks. Steve developed the original Horvath clock, one of the first tools to show that DNA methylation carries a remarkably reliable signal of aging across human tissues. In this episode, he explains what biological clocks actually measure, why different clocks can disagree, and how to interpret a biological-age result without treating it like a literal lifespan forecast. We talk about chronological age vs. biological age, and we also get into the intervention evidence on exercise and VO2 max, calorie restriction, omega-3s, vitamin D, multivitamins, and weight loss/GLP-1 therapy, among other topics! The big theme is that biological clocks can be useful dashboards, but they are not diagnoses, fortune-telling tools, or proof that one supplement has reversed aging. This was Steve's second appearance on the podcast and he did not disappoint. You won't want to miss this episode. Links to the episode on all platforms in the comments below. Creatine isn’t just for athletes. A growing body of scientific evidence now shows creatine helps preserve muscle during aging, maintains bone density, improves cognition (especially during stress), and speeds muscle recovery after intense exercise. To explore the mechanisms, optimal dosing strategies, and practical considerations, and more, I invited a leading creatine researcher Dr. Darren Candow (Darren Candow, PhD, CSEP-CEP, FISSN) onto the podcast. Even if you’re not an athlete—or you’ve dismissed creatine as a muscle supplement—you need to listen to this episode. Links to YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify in the comments.
