What a privilege it is simply to be alive — to belong to communities, to love and be loved. I take none of it for granted. I don’t know how best to say this and not sound proud or arrogant but there are some people who used to be in your past life that should never make it to your present or future life. And you should not feel guilty about it! Before you misconstrue my point, please take note of the word “some”. I haven’t said you should cut off and turn your back on all your homies, friends and family members. But be smart about who, from your old life, you let into your new life!
