@HLC_actual @Fat_Electrician @AngryCops Ah! now it makes sense how they could fuck up boiling water at Chernobyl

@HLC_actual @Fat_Electrician @AngryCops My favorite part about the entire matter (by which I mean the most frustrating part that I hate) is that radioactive elements would be so useful for so many everyday things if only we could contain gamma and render them less deadly to be around.

@HLC_actual @Fat_Electrician @AngryCops It’s a very closely CONTROLLED nuclear chain reaction. A nuclear weapon is an UNCONTROLLED nuclear chain reaction.

@Fat_Electrician @HLC_actual @AngryCops It is U235 they put a dense amount together and fission will occur. They use graphite to slow the reaction or fully stop it be fully cutting off the U235 fission.

@Fat_Electrician @HLC_actual @AngryCops @grok, explain how uranium heats water in a nuclear reactor like you're the fat electrician

there is a nuclear engineer T. Folse Nuclear channel that can go more into it. Basically you got your uraniam it gives off radiation that make more radiation faster. Then you got you control rods which helps abosorb your radiation that makes your radation go faster, thus making your radation go slower. You remove the control rods slowly making the radiation go faster beter. then add them back in till you reach steady state. Then you got you water in the tank. this water is highly pressureized so it can reach temps well above 100c This water goes to a heat exchanger and heats up your cooling water to make steam. Right here you got some maths to do to figure out how much energy was absorbed by transfering to steam. Steam makes turbine go brr Steam then goes to another cooling area to condense and exchange heat with the air making hot water cool again. Water is then pumped back to the resivour where new water is slowly adding for loss. Water goes back to reactor to make steam so turbine goes brrr.

@Fat_Electrician @HLC_actual @AngryCops It’s the use of heavy water and uranium

@Fat_Electrician @HLC_actual @AngryCops If you guys want an understandable explanation, let me know. I was a Navy nuclear mechanic on submarines. I know a good deal about it. Reach out if you want to know more.
