So Kling AI 3.0 now supports multi-shot sequences, so I was excited to test it head-to-head against Flow by Google VEO 3.1, which is known for having some of the best video lip-sync out there. Verdict 🏆: This might not even be a totally fair comparison since Kling can generate up to 15s clips while VEO tops out at 8s. That said, Kling feels like it’s capturing more emotional performance and nuance, with more natural overall mouth movement. VEO still seems stronger on strict lip-sync accuracy, while Kling characters can look like they’re slightly mumbling at times. Overall, it feels like Kling is pushing performance forward, which is a huge leap. I definitely want to run more side-by-side tests.

Finally got our hands on Seedance 2.0 (through YouArt) and ran it head-to-head with Kling AI 3.0. Here’s what stood out: Seedance 2.0’s physics feel stronger right away. The movement just looks more natural and realistic, especially in bigger physical actions. It also handles continuity across multiple shots from a single prompt better than I expected, which makes scene building a lot easier. And on the audio side, the lip sync generally holds up better than Kling. But here’s the tradeoff: Both models struggle with fine details. Background faces and smaller elements still get a bit messy. Seedance currently outputs at 720p, while Kling 3.0 supports 1080p, so Kling has the edge in overall sharpness. Even with upscaling, Seedance doesn’t fully recover those tiny details. Excited to announce I have officially begun production on the first pilot installment of my AI Sci-Fi mini-film series based on my trailer “RE-IN” that I premiered a few months back. With where the tools are at it seemed like it was time to get the ball rolling. We are moving from “concept” to “content” extremely fast and I believe we are almost at the edge. 2026 = The end of upscaling? One of generative AI's biggest drawbacks was the resolution, and I'm not talking about the output resolution as 1080p would be enough for most of the projects. I'm talking about the "internal" resolution of how these models work, that makes small faces distorted in your generations, the ones that will make a wide-shot impossible because the small details will morph and of course with some models text rendering is not possible. Upscaling with AI was always a strange case, local upscalers sometimes lacked the quality compared to the closed source competitors, but those can be pretty pricey and the results are sometimes way too "creative". So I was very, very interested when Kling AI announced native, not upscaled 4K generation but wanted to have a good method test it. Again, I never missed the 4K output resolution with genAI, but I missed the nuanced detail rendering of the engines and the lack of that made it impossible to create for example very wide shots with tiny details. So I fired up some image models to generate stills inspired by Morocco and see how Kling behaves, now in 4K. Some notable moments: 00:22 - Skin and eye texture, the movements, the little coins in the headdress 01:18 - The reflection in the water 01:39 - The reflection in the eye, and the scarf textures 02:10 - Check all the details on the rails 02:20 - Water particles and leaves 02:29 - The rendering of the rusty parts of the rail 02:50 - How the waves change the reflection in the foreground 02:55 - The cloud movement in the background

Sharing some work in progress on my latest AI short. Here is a rough cut of a dialogue scene where I use Kling 2.6 motion control to capture and transfer my performance to the AI generated characters of both Terry and Carol. No sound design, Carol's voice is just mine pitched up 😝 and I am clearly not a trained actor but I think this gives you a good idea of where we are in terms being able to capture performance and create engaging dialogue scenes with AI tools. I'd usually post the video with an inset of me performing but I did this late last night in my Rick and Morty Oodie with hair like a crazy money, ain't nobody need to see that!

OpenAI researcher David Holtz reveals the Kenya small business owners study where giving AI to high performers made them better but giving it to low performers made them worse: "I'm a co-author on another paper where we look at small business owners in Kenya. We give access to an AI mentor to see if it improves the performance of their business." "Going into this study we thought it would just make them better at running their businesses. What we see is that overall there's actually no detectable impact of giving people access to this AI tool."
