A cubic millimeter may not sound like much, but it is a big step in neuroscience. ~4km of axons were mapped – the length of Central Park – together with live imaging data, from a piece of brain tissue the size of a grain of sand in this landmark release.

This was previously thought to be impossible - and teamwork made it happen. 🧠 @BCMFromtheLabs collected live brain imaging 🔬 @AllenInstitute sectioned & imaged that tissue in high res 💻 @PrincetonNeuro reconstructed in 3D
