How does this work? More than one processor phoning up to ask if we have any fat cattle? Obvs next question is "How much?". "Well the price is down." comes the reply. The answer is politely to "Jog on!" Don't get your pants taken down! 🤬 🇬🇧🐂🥩🍽️

You wouldn’t be suggesting that the processors are cunningly working together to squeeze the market down when theirs a national shortage of cattle now are you!?

It's not that unusual tbh. It just gets a bit wearing listening to the broken record over and over. Treat us fairly all year round and we'll play fair all year round. 😉🐂💪🏻

Well my 10 for next week to be confirmed on Monday will be no then! #strongertogether

Factory trying to buck the market hoping someone needs cash flow

we weighed up today, found no did not find as we new there were getting close we only small so to have 28 fittish most over 670 lw steers they can sit in the shed on cheap feed you only sell them once as you know

It’s called a stalemate, processors not getting the returns from the market, if your not happy with the price hold onto the cattle, but they will be lower again over the following weeks. Had a few loads out this week, 10c a kilo less than I had hoped, but all in all, a good price

Processors know how many cattle are in the country. Weather alters the retail sales certainly. If retailers are pressuring their preferred processor to supply at a lower price then the processor has no where to go. Hence the stalemate with us farmers. I'm happy to hold! 🐂🥩💪🏻

I was expecting my retail demand to drop a bit this month but actually it’s stronger than last month, with high eating out prices retail beef is good value. It’s not scorching, it’s not holiday time, no excuse for saying demand is down.

they seem to be all clubbing together to drop lamb prices 👎
