I can read this comfortably

Missed a few words purely because I had to blink

I could read it, but I am a naturally fast reader. However, the goal should not be speed but understanding. One of the benefits of books over video is that you can easily reread the last sentence or paragraph to ensure you understood the meaning. Not possible in this case.

As a young child I accelerated my reading by moving a finger straight down the middle of the page so my eyes took in a line at a time (while other children were moving their finger along the line one word, or even one letter, at a time). Read very fast ever since. Without the finger!

Could keep up, no drama at all..

Love that got to the end anyway

I’m 69 years old and curious - reading this while listening and absorbing music presented no challenge - is your app aimed at improving speed reading skills, and if so are there other levels ? (No, I’m not going to download the app to find out)

Took me a few seconds to adjust to the top speed but I got it. Amazing how you can shut everything down except the words flashing in front of you.

Wow, i do read fast anyway i know that but kept up with pretty much all the last words. Very interesting.

It’s a cool parlor trick but only works for easy texts. Anything more dense requires multiple readings and pausing to process. Not everything is about efficiency.

I could read all of them .

Always read fast…..though I sometimes find myself reading too fast and missing important details. With a novel it’s not that important as you can still get the gist of it. I read a lot of non fiction, mainly history, and I have to slow myself down to fully absorb details. Currently reading Omar Bradley’s autobiography and have to force myself to read slowly.

Reading fast is not the issue these days. The issue is people don’t read. Introduce your children to reading stories between 6-10. Let them learn the joy of entering new worlds just by opening a book. Then reading for learning will be easier and maybe even fun.

Lol, am listening to the tv and reading this at the same time. Easy.

Wow. That is cool.

Damn…how the heck did I get all of that ? And here I thou I was a slow reader..

Predictably the comments are full of losers who want to impress complete strangers with their speed reading ability. “It was easy for me” they say one after the other. I thought children were banned from X?

I did a speed reading course many years ago. I excelled in the course but it was the worst thing I ever did. In my profession accuracy and interpretation of facts is important. I now tend to skim rather than read properly and misread the facts sometimes. Have to reread.

The logo thing is true. It is also true that good readers don’t look at every letter but recognize the whole word. These facts in the hands of people who have facts but no understanding, is what has led to the collapse of literacy in the US. Capability to read this way comes after learning phonics not instead of. No one starts by running a marathon, we all start by learning how to stand while holding onto something. No one learns to knit by starting with an intricate cable pattern. You learn the individual stitches first. Thankfully, I believe that many schools are finally abandoning the “whole word” technique in favor of phonics.

I actually managed to read that with News on TV in background, my skills must have improved.

Not too bad, the faster settings were readable but comprehension sufferered. Comes from reading core dumps on IBM 1403s.

I enjoyed this. I think I generally read fairly quickly, but this was a great test and keeping up felt good. The final test was really interesting. I couldn’t catch every single word, but it’s amazing how your brain fills in the gaps.

Anime watchers yawn at this slow speed

English is not my native language, but I can read almost 900 words per minute. Wow!

That was fun. Followed every word till the end 👍

Why can’t books be written like that, it makes so much sense and it’s keeping me engaged especially with a adhd brain.

That was fun. Even right at the end.

It’s fascinating and I was able to read the whole text. But. I feel restless and “tired” afterwards. Is that a me-problem or do others experience this too?

I could read it easily until the end, but now I’m reading every comment and X post at crazy speeds and see colored dots😂😂😂

Quick question— what am I saving this time for? More reading?

I got most of it at 900 word per minute. I’m normally a fast reader anyway.

Easy and it’s not even my main language

That is awesome

I can read fast but am I retaining or understanding it when I do.
