This is extremely misleading. A Chlorine detection reagent changing color doesn’t imply the levels are extremely high, only that it’s present. When a hand is placed in chlorinated water, the chlorine reacts with natural oils or residues, causing a drop in free chlorine levels, not absorption by the skin. This reaction is likely why the test showed less chlorine after the hand was removed, rather than the skin absorbing it. Chlorine levels change due to interaction with organic matter, which is temporary and doesn’t imply it ‘disappears’ into skin.

Chlorine is critical to have safe tap water. She didn’t provide a viable replacement.

The amount of chlorine in tap water is too low to cause breathing problems. Some people who are *very* sensitive to chlorine could experience skin irritation but because the amount of chlorine in drinking water is extremely small, this situation is expected to be rare.

This is not absorption, but reaction. Chlorine is highly reactive and it is doing its job ( oxidation) on the organics as you can see.

kidna deceiving. Chlorine probably reacts with the surface of the hand. Hand did not "absorb pure chlorine. Chlorine simply reacted and is no longer the same property anymore.
