If his (great) grandfather was from Turkey, in Gaza, he could be from the Doghmush Clan and not even fully an Arab. Likely at least partially Turkish or Kurdish. The Kurds mainly moved into Gaza much earlier than the Doghmush. IE al-Kurd.
