This is not impartial language or framing. “Adopted sex” is not a recognised legal or scientific term. Nor is it accurate. Sex is not something that can be adopted or changed. “Adopted sex” is activist framing, and if journalists choose to use such terminology it should be clearly signposted as such rather than presented as a statement of fact.
