Ending with the hug. That’s the way to do it! In the end nobody is mad, and a lesson taught.

My only issue with this is treating exercise as a punishment.

Notice how the mom didn't go in and micromanage dad, or at any point add colorful commentary. She was quiet and in the background. Women must want to be respected and act in a manner that merits respect to be respected

Anyone else find it strange that the dad is just hanging out in nothing but his underwear?

If my students, who are all grown men, cuss in my classroom, they have to do 20 push ups, and if they use the lords name in vain, it's 40. They actually respect that, and thank me for it. Good manners never go out of style.

Punishing your kid with exercise is the quickest way to raise someone who hates exercise. You want a positive association with exercise, not thinking of it as punishment.

That shit doesn't work. It will make the child hate the father and drive them away. Tough love does not work.

As a father this was hands down of the best ways to work on attitude. A boy doesn’t fully understand disrespect, fantastic core moment for dad and son. Did you notice how upset he got when he realized what he had done and hugged his daddy at the end? Raise your kids not your voice or your hands in a moment like this. Great job dad.

Good for him. Never let your child talk to their mother like that.

The mom is doing the right thing. I have actually witnessed the mother getting involved thinking that it’s too much blah blah blah. By doing that they are screwing their children of valuable lessons. We need the balance of the mother and the father. Both should be involved in discipline, but the father’s needs to be tougher and harder. And this child will have an outstanding life because of it.

Yes. It means something for dad to say it/point it than for mom. For example If I say “what did you say to me?” or “what was that?” Yes it’s something but my son would just be like “ugh-mom being 🙄” BUT if my husband/their dad points it out and disciplines it’s NEXT LEVEL. You can see it on any boys face. Boys NEED dads/males to learn real respect. Families are the building blocks of society. We need more healthy families.

Great way to get some exercise in our kids and remind them to show respect. Extremely calm exchange and he learned a lesson. Well done dad!

This is shit parenting. Not instilling anything. Ruining working out and just building resentment. This is putting off step dad vibes.

I wonder if that dad was in the Army. When I was in, that was called CAPE (Corrective Action through Physical Exercise).

And don’t you ever apologize for this! The sons themselves thank their fathers for this! The lessons of respect, restraint and self discipline is invaluable! Back to basics baby! The way to go!!!!

That was love a father to a son. Guess that father could have whipped his butt, but made him do push-ups and squats. He done the right thing I would’ve done my child the same way you don’t tell your parents to chill out.
