How good was Knightmare. I loved this show

Phenomenal, what a time to be an alive!! The tension was unbearable at times 🙈 @Helennon1

What was great was that it didn't patronise children. You could go entire series with no winners. It made you earn it. So when it did happen it meant something.

After years of being a fan I plucked up the courage to audition for the show with 3 of my friends from high school. It was 1994. I’d filled out the form in my best handwriting, told my family and friends I was going to appear on it, then, out of the blue, the show got cancelled🥺

Free creative expression is what leads to shows like Knightmare. Not cancelling things for being too edgy.

It was the highlight of my week.

Mate put an application in for us (recorded the end titles and had to keep pausing/rewinding so the lines didn’t cover the details). Spent a week touring the year 6 playground saying we’d soon be on tv. Obviously never heard anything back.

With current CGI etc it would be much easier to make , won’t happen though

I have never heard of this show!

Was never my thing, this was a change the channel or go outside moment. Always preferred cartoons or fun house or finders keepers

I sometimes saw bits of it but I mostly watched CITV as a kid.

Weird brit shows..what's with the cheap virtual reality that was popular on these type of shows? Was this a common thing on kids shows back then?
