When you are in the championship you and your best players are PL level and they go you aren't going to be able to upgrade on them whilst in the championship. THB was replaced by a bundesliga stalwart for 4 mil amd Charles by a 31 yo with hundreds of PL apps & good at champ level

Better midfielder than JWP? Signed him for 800k and he’s one of the best midfielders in the league. Brings ALOT of experience, intelligence & exceptional dead balls. There isn’t anyone better out there that offers more for that price tag….

Keeping Scienza & Jander, and signing Larin and Peretz was a great starting point, and JWP at £800k is a steal. We don’t have a huge amount of money to spend either, It was a “great window” because I think we’re 1 striker short, and THB replacement wasn’t at the level expected

The key point for me that I keep saying to people is that we are a better squad then at the same time last season but probably not compared to team we finished the season with. Let's see where we are in the league come January & see what we then bring in & compare

It’s hard to spend massive money on a player in the champ because if they’re that good, they don’t want championship football. We sold the two that were heading out of contract. Beardy weirdly is an idiot!

B is about right for the reasons you both said. Yes losing 2 very good players is bad but we only lost 2, including the 2 loanees who we signed up. A happy loved JWP is very good at this level, Big Kev looks excellent. Mubana looks decent as replacement for brittle RS too.

How do people think saints are weaker. Jwp is better than Charles, carries the free kick threat, and is a super fit player who will be available all season. Schlotterbeck is arguably better than THB at defending. Peretz, Larin, scienza, downed, azaz, Jander, fellows. Good luck 😅
