How great is it that he didn’t end up going to West Ham

Shows young Irish players that there's more in football than English clubs. Troy Parrott is after making a fine career first in Holland and looking very promising in Spain

35 years since John Aldridge scored against Real Madrid. The last Irishman to do so. And against his old boss!!

England is the graveyard for young footballers. Troy is the example 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

He made a great call joining Real Betis @m_brosnan . I can only think of 3 Irish men to score against Real Madrid. Other 2 are John Aldridge and Des Kennedy from my native Limerick for Limerick FC in 1981 European Cup.

Troy is off to Champions league football next!

I’m shocked an Everton or palace didn’t try to get him at the money he went for

I hope he’s paying his manager/agent a fortune because they deserve it

@MonaghanGAAFans Everton stuck with Barry when he was right there

But could he do it on a cold Wednesday in February at The Old Girl Fratton park?

We’re bigger than the entirety of Irish football btw

Now now Maurice, West ham lives matter too, although some are also happy he didn't join

The amount of young English players that have been hanging around Spurs since Parrotts time, and doing sweet fuck all is unreal. Troy an his management have made some great choices/career moves. English players seem to gamble it all on big EFL contract and end up in League 2.
