The house doesn't always win. Four anecdotes in which "I was there" when game companies got fleeced. Thrice by individuals, once by their own publisher. First, id Software and our non-network code. John Carmack told me that while our game worked great on a network, they had hired a guy to do the code over dial-up internet. He lived out-of-state (IIRC, California). I was told that he was a brilliant programmer, and that his current boss knew he was coding for id as a side gig. AND that when he finished his current project, he'd leave his company and come work for id Software. 1/8

Was watching the newest AVGN video and was completely caught off guard by him mentioning "Jackie Chan: Fists of Fire" as one of the few good FMV games in it. As the person who first applied to TO it at a major fighting game tournament, crazy to see how its notoriety has grown.

Out of ewc. What a perfect way to go out as well. Thinking that i have 0 idea how to play fighting games LOL. Everything i learned my entire life was thrown out the window in that losers match. And with that, time to never turn on fatal fury ever again!!! Right before ENC imma play the game for a couple hours, but thats it. The game patched me out of existence. SNK just doesnt like my style of play, and honestly, im ok with that. Im glad at evo japan I was able to show everyone how good I am, and im glad i was able to qualify for this event. No regrets. Goodluck to everyone still in the tournament!!! To the supporters, sorry I wasnt good enough ='(

BUT PLEASE READ FIRST i shared a before/after photo i found on pinterest for motivation, without knowing who the person was. that was my mistake, and i deleted it as soon as i realized. even after deleting it, i continued to receive harassment and hate messages from her followers for three days. i saw her still shit talking about me in comments, it does not excuse what i did next. i reacted out of anger and sent a hateful message. that was wrong i’m sorry

Dear Genshin Impact fans, In my nodkrai video I said that Natlan’s music was nice but felt shallow, my mistake in this was not elaborating on why. I said it in passing and didn’t consider the word choice. I’m gathering that people assumed I was referring to the PLACES being represented by the music Which is preposterous because I would never criticize a culture or place, as I’ve always felt that is genshin’s strongest element. I assumed you would know it was obvious I was talking about the musical composition and structure not what that music represented (the people and the places) I’m sorry if you felt that I was spitting in the face of your culture. As a multicultural person myself and soon to be married to a multicultural person as well, I would never ever do that. I am saddened that you may have felt that. That said, subjectively, I felt natlan’s music was nice. But, a bit too easy listening to my taste. Part of the reason I have filmed so many Genshin videos is due to the musical complexity it showcases. Not just in the western soundscape but also in other regions that are represented. You’ll recall I defended this very thing a year ago when the music was representing African culture. At that time I was lambasted on this platform for saying that people of color were not being represented properly in game. I’m perplexed why you would think I’m suggesting the opposite now, even going so far as have people claim I am “racist” which is a bridge too far. In any event, I’m sorry for any hurt feelings. It’s clear to me that if I’m going to say something, I should be clear about what I mean.

The other night I was home alone and turned the dryer on before I went to bed… there was a blockage of lint on the external line (I had even just cleaned it recently 🤯) and it started smoking, and the dog I rescued from the shelter alerted me at 2am and saved my house from catching on fire. As of today, he has had a cheeseburger everyday since in gratitude of his protection of our home. The person that had him before thought he was worthless, but to me Jack’s is priceless. ❤️🐶

I was asked what I’m doing for the holiday weekend. My response was that I was excited to get 3 days of 2 hour workouts. They looked at me like I was crazy and said that our lifestyles are really different. I don’t understand how people can celebrate by being lazy, drinking alcohol and eating junk. I love getting stronger and will use every opportunity to do so. I’ve gotten a lot of work done to my cars and done a lot of working out. Oh, and I tried a Whiteclaw for the first time last night, gross. Don’t understand the hype.

One of the interesting nuggets was that he said one of his gifts as a climber (besides being the first person to climb V17 in a session…) was his ability to quickly assess and learn from his movement. It inspired me to start videoing attempts on the board, and lo and behold I sent a few things with subtle tweaks to body position, etc. I guess I may have to join modernity and start using video as a tool more…

I didn't hear Penny call my name at the finish line. And tjo shem she tried. I think I know why I didn't hear her shout my name.....My goal was an 11:15 - 11:20 finish. We started in batches of 3 and I was in the 3rd wave. Out of habit, I switched my Garmin off twice at a water point and forgot to switch it back on for a while. My timing was off and I had no idea what time it was. I wasn't worried as I knew I was comfortably ahead of cut-off. At 72 kms, I heard a fellow runner tell another that "We have 2 and a half hours left to finish. We will come in at 11:10." Silly me didn't realize that these were group 2 runners and they had started earlier. Which meant I had even more time to finish and I'd caught up with many Group 2 runners. I had judged myself according to their progress. As I came closer to the finish line I saw the Group 3 clock say 10:58:22. I was stunned, mentally frozen so I switched off and chased my bronze medal with 1 minute 7 seconds to spare. A 10:58:53 finish was satisfying.

#HelloBlessedPeople 🙏🏾 30 years ago… I sat and watched team after team pass me by, most of them TWICE! In my mind, I should’ve already been gone before the 61st pick. The last pick in the first round, or as I thought about it, the first pick in the third round. But because I was not “ideal” and labeled a “tweener”, I sat excitedly, yet angrily, awaiting my name to be called. But as I grew in my walk with Christ, I began to understand that, for the believer, delay is often God’s setup. That frustration… that anger… I was blessed by the Lord to harness those emotions, to build something far greater than what I imagined possible… that chip on my shoulder became an asset to my new teammates, organization, home & fan base, not a liability!! I didn’t run from it. I USED IT. Used it in my preparation. Used it in my mindset. Used it to become who God was calling me to be. What felt like rejection… was really direction. What felt like a setback… was part of His plan. Don’t waste what you feel. Don’t fight it… FAITH it! Use it!! "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."
