How I’d dice up Tim Walz’s defense:

So you’re telling me you want to install an RPO-based spread option offense… - to a bunch of 16-year-olds - in rural Minnesota - in 1993 - while playing in -8 degree wind chill You have fun with that 😂

Not how I expected to start my morning but I’m for sure never running 4-4 on CFB25 again 😂

My high school ran the single wing back in the early 2000s and gave defenses fits with those wrong way plays. Most high school players aren’t sophisticated enough to prepare for all of that.

Unless you've got prime Jason Kelce at center there's no high schooler alive that's getting a reach to the outside shoulder of a 2i while also delivering an on time and accurate snap. Either a wild snap puts you way behind the sticks or that backside b gap does not exist.

How id dice up Tim walz’s defense: Have better players

He coached in Big10 country. Have to assume he had 300 lb high schoolers playing on the line.

QB is going to get thrashed though bro by an absolute manchild inside.....works every time 😂

Pretty sure he was a coach in 90s before RPOs were a big thing. I’m sure if he was coaching today he would adjust to RPOs.

Important context is that we're talking 90s Minnesota football. No quarterback was throwing verts. Only a few centers would reach the 2i. My high school team used a 4-4 because every opponent just ran iso, power, counter, toss over and over, or the triple option. Worked fine.

Sir this is Minnesota high school football
