Russians finally figure out how to disable Starlink? Connection is possibly the most important aspect of drones. Ukraine's exclusive to Starlink allows its drones to fly further and at low distances, making them difficult to shoot down and impossible to jam. It turns out that Starlink, which supposedly provides a connection that is immune to jamming by electronic warfare (EW), does have some weaknesses. On June 16, Ukrainian drone official Serhii Bezkrestnov wrote about how the Russians have been developing in this direction. The first time that the Russians managed to suppress starlink connection was apparently in 2024, in the Kharkiv oblast. Apparently, the EW system used by the Russians that time was hunted down and destroyed. And for some reason, there were no similar attempts to jam Starlink until 2026. Bezkrestnov writes that the Russians started working on anti-Starlink solutions following the start of attacks on Russian logistics by Ukrainian mid-range drones, which ramped up dramatically in May 2026. Starlink is crucial in allowing these Ukrainian drones to travel 100-200km beyond the frontlines. As such, a joint operation between the ‘Alpha’ Special Operations Centre of the Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) and the 422nd Unmanned Systems Regiment ‘Luftwaffe’ (yes) took down a Russian EW system targeting Starlink in mid-June. Bezkrestnov also shared another video of the 422nd targeting the same Russian EW complex. It is apparently called ‘Wave Dome Guarantor’ (Volna Kupol Garant). It is produced by the company ‘Russian Dome’, based in Simferopol, Crimea. Here’s how Bezkrestnov described the way it works: "A system of satellite antennas is installed on Earth, which "look" at the sky at a passing satellite. The system emits powerful interference from Earth to the satellite, so that the satellite does not hear signals from ordinary terminals. Technically, the Starlink satellite receives signals from terminals in the range of 14-14.5 GHz. This range is divided into 8 channels, each 62.5 MHz wide. The Russians conditionally took 8 satellite "dishes", directed them at the satellite, and each dish transmits interference on its own channel. That's all. The satellite is "deaf". One EW complex provides protection for about 20 square kilometers. The EW Wave Dome Garant is mounted on trailers. On each trailer, there are two antennas, and the entire complex consists of 6 trailers. The antenna system can be removed from the trailers and placed on a single platform or mounted directly on the ground. Each antenna visually resembles an egg, but inside the egg hides a satellite dish with a rotation mechanism. Like any EW system, the "Wave Dome Garant" consumes a lot of electricity. The complex can operate both on generators in each trailer and from an external power supply."

‼️‼️🇷🇺🇨🇳🇺🇲 Moscow and Beijing have officially institutionalized a highly classified, joint warfare strategy explicitly designed to completely neutralize Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite network, mounting a multi-tiered assault to blind Western and Ukrainian frontline communications. According to a bombshell joint investigation published by *The Insider*, *Der Spiegel*, and *Le Monde*, the Kremlin and the Chinese Communist Party have moved beyond theoretical discussions to codify a comprehensive, aggressive counter-Starlink package. Leaked documents reveal that during a high-security, closed-door summit of top aerospace and military-industrial engineers in Guangzhou, China, Beijing presented its Russian counterparts with a lethal operational roadmap. The joint strategy spans from aggressive legal and international bureaucratic warfare to cripple SpaceX's orbital licensing, all the way to advanced electronic jamming and explicit kinetic, physical destruction mechanisms targeting the satellite constellation in low-Earth orbit. This sinister space-warfare pact underscores the deep anxiety in both Beijing and Moscow over Starlink's absolute dominance in modern, high-intensity conflict. By pooling China’s vast technological and anti-satellite (ASAT) capabilities with Russia’s aggressive electronic warfare experience, the dual-autocracy alliance is actively preparing for a wider, sci-fi-level confrontation with the West—violently signaling that space is no longer a sanctuary, but the premier frontline of the next world war. 🛰️ Two Russian electronic warfare systems "Volna Kupol Garant" designed to suppress the Starlink satellite communication system have been destroyed. These are the systems that the Russians use to combat one of the most important elements of modern warfare - Starlink satellite communication. "Volna Kupol Garant" works on a fairly simple principle: the system emits powerful interference towards Starlink satellites, trying to "jam" signals from Ukrainian terminals. To do this, the complex uses 8 communication channels in the 14–14.5 GHz range at once. In fact, the satellite receives such a powerful stream of interference that it stops "hearing" legitimate terminals. One such complex is capable of covering an area of about 20 km². "Volna Kupol Garant" consists of six trailers, on which 12 antennas are located. Each antenna is hidden in a characteristic radio-transparent casing and is equipped with a mechanism for pointing at satellites flying over the area of operation of the complex. Due to the high power consumption, the system can operate both from its own generators and from external power supply. The first cases of the use of such electronic warfare means were recorded back in 2024 in the Kharkiv direction. Today, the Russians are increasingly trying to use them to protect logistics and rear facilities from Ukrainian long-range strikes. However, as practice shows, any active electronic warfare sooner or later becomes a target itself.

🛰🇮🇷🇨🇳Iran Switched to Chinese BDS Navigation System — An End to the US Monopoly on Satellite Navigation Thirty-one years ago, the United States switched off GPS signals to a Chinese ship bound for Iran, leaving it stranded at sea for 24 days. The message was clear: control navigation, control the world. Today, Iran has switched off GPS itself—and switched on China's BeiDou. The weapon once used to coerce has been rendered obsolete. This is not an upgrade. It is a full circle: from American leverage to American irrelevance. 🔸The Yinhe Incident: A Humiliation That Built a System The Yinhe was not carrying weapons or spies. It carried ordinary cargo to Iran. Yet in 1993 the US accused it of transporting chemical weapons materials and cut its GPS signal—not as a military act, but as a message. For 24 days, the ship drifted without coordinates, unable to dock or navigate. For Beijing, the lesson was clear. Within a decade, China had launched the first BeiDou satellites, determined to build a system no foreign power could disable. 🔸The Transition By 2015, Iran had signed a memorandum with Beijing to integrate BeiDou. By 2021, Iranian missile guidance already embedded the system. The shift was quiet—a slow unraveling of GPS dependency. Then came the catalyst. During last year's 12-day war, Israeli GPS jamming paralyzed Iranian vessels and aircraft. On June 23, 2025, Iran formally deactivated GPS nationwide, blocking American signals at the source. The switch to China's BeiDou-3 (BDS-3) was complete. Unlike GPS, BDS-3's military-tier B3A signal proved resistant to interference, maintaining a reported 98% positioning success rate. With over 50 satellites—compared to 31 for GPS—BeiDou offers superior coverage over the Iranian plateau. 🔸A Game Changer Before BDS, Iran relied on massive barrages—hundreds of rockets to overwhelm defenses, draining supplies for limited effect. Now, with BeiDou-enabled precision, Iran has shifted to a precision strike doctrine: guiding missiles and drones through complex maneuvers up to 2,000 kilometers. Surgical strikes have replaced supply-draining salvos. Israeli jammers can no longer feed false coordinates. US electronic warfare has lost a key lever. Conclusion: Full Circle In 1993, the US flipped a switch to humble a ship bound for Iran. In 2025, Iran flipped its own switch—to make American signals irrelevant. What goes around, comes around.
