I mentioned this before and I was told by an Englishman that I exaggerating at best and making it up at worst.

Why did they go to London in the first place, to escape a poverty stricken, RC Church hegemonic State with large families and miserable job outlook. Lucky to have the UK on their doorstep including a prosperous Northern Ireland.

It was disgusting. My mother who was born in London in 1943 witnessed this. She was English and always told me about the signs outside pubs, shops and dwellings saying no Irish no blacks and no dogs. She ended up marrying an Irish man in London in the late 60s. God bless her.

My dad & uncles when arriving from Ireland to London, saw the same notice, in bedsit street doors/windows, with No dogs added to the infamous banned list. The Irish and West Indians share a bond that cannot be broken, through much ill treatment they received in those dark times.
