Just because AE does motion graphics and compositing doesn’t mean its competitors should. Scene Group were right to make Cavalry be better at motion graphics than After Effects (layers and Apple Motion behaviors) and not worry about the Combustion/Fusion/nodes side of things.

I think all of it is good for the industry. Competition breeds innovation. Even if they’re only similar in certain ways. I e been using AE since the 90s and it feels good to rewire my brain in Cavalry and Autograph.

I started using AE in 1996. Apple Motion launched in 2004. Took me a few years to rewire my brain to learn its ways. Sadly for Motion, features and performance aren’t enough: Apple never cracked how to market it. Similar waste in potential: Final Cut vs. the rest.

The worst was Apple acquiring Shake from Nothing Real and then killing it. They had something codenamed Phenomenon but never released anything 🤷🏼♂️

Great to see the AOV support being so easy to use!

OFX for plugins, or something else?

I dont know which one to decide, specially since im not a c4d user but I use blender
