How is rural China rapidly becoming more prosperous? One technique: training centers to help rural farmers sell their products, nationally and internationally. I visited this center today in Aksu, Xinjiang. Aksu is a Uygur majority city.

I heard Huang Wenxiu pioneered this program. Watched the series "Daughter of the Mountains" and if it's as biographically accurate as it seemed.., it's not difficult to understand how China rapidly lifted even its most remote rural areas out of poverty and into prosperity.

Supporting farmers like this is a great idea. In western countries, farmers are usually on their own.

In India 🇮🇳, during his race to Prime Minister over 10 years back, a promise was made by scammer @narendramodi that farmers' income will get doubled. Farmers have seen their incomes go down during Modi's tenure and when the protested, Modi used brutal policing and shut them down

It's nice meeting dozens of Uygur people here on my trip. There is a sense of upward mobility.
