How is she able to talk to the dead

🧐🙄

this scene always hits me in the gut 😭 the way she’s shaking and still won’t break… i’d be crying for my mom in 2 seconds flat. 19th century “medicine” was straight-up horror. poor girl just wanted to talk to her dead dad 💔

This scene is chilling, not just because of the ice bath, but because it reflects a real history of women being punished for simply existing on their own terms. Mélanie Laurent turns the horror of the asylum into a haunting critique of misogyny and Eugénie's courage makes every second unforgettable.
